Me, i agree with certain limits of the FCC on what can be shown on cable/public TV during the hours when children are likely to be an abundance of the audience. I am not offended by nudity, language or extreme violence when i myself, pay for a ticket to an R rated movie, well aware of what i'm going to see, as they've done recently in movie commercials. I know what i'm getting into, and if i find it too much pushing the limits, i walk out and tell my friends whats in it. but i'm not giong to write the director of the movie and protest in front of the theater. We payed, we decide if it goes to waste or not.
However, i think there needs to be certain standards on TV no matter wat, when it's prime time and when there is an abundance of minors. Famlies want to come together to have a nice time together without extreme images that offend or warp people.
It was simply an accident and i can undestand the reaction, but i don't care about an investigation to what was on her breast, or the pigment or TV glare, or whatever the hell they are trying to prove. I found it more offensive of the bumping and grinding, and then a male ripping a females clothing off. I don't like watching MTV and i try to keep my family, especially my younger sisters from learning how to please a man 24/7 on these channels.
It's not offensive, but the reaction is understandable.
but yes, there are even more offensive things on other channels. like girls in g-strings, rappers taking shots at one another, the show Cops where they arrest cross dressing car jackers. |

| The media is ok though to have a big fat guy show us his hairy man boobs at a basketball or football game. Its so rediculous how all the parents of america protest at the human body being exposed and they offer no good reason other than its corrupting our children. Parents just need to use Janet's boob as their excuse for bad parenting and for american children's problems. Seeing a boob isnt going to stop the world, turn children into murderers. People here need excuses and this is just one of them. Its been movies, video games, alcohol, sex, vulgar, and now the boob that changed america. |

| if you have never lived in america, dont say . what you see on your diluted bbc networks really doesnt show you the first person perspective. just stop generalizing and saying america. say the government, most americans, texans, or whatever (heh) just get off sirocco and other tas backs. |

first off,
i couldn't care less if they showed her ing boob. i think that there are a lot of stupid people in this country. but the reason for all the controversy as already mentioned was the fact that it happened during an hour when children might be watching.
i listen to this radio show during my morning commute and they of course talked about it. they asked parents what they thought about it and the majority of them said they really didn't care so that leads me to believe that its just the networks attempting to avoid offending the ultra conservatives out there.
also agree that i find it funny that the non-americans are the ones that seem to be bitching about america and coming to all sorts of conclusions when really you probably don't have a very good idea of what it is like here. |

So I guess it's cool to show Saddam son's dead bodies on public tv at 9 a.m. but it's ed up to show a boob during a football game? What the hell is wrong with american stations?? |

I'm in America & to be honest, I think the government & laws we abide by have this double standard ALL THE TIME !
I mean, come on, we cant show a girls breast on tv (thats covered no less) but then we can have tv shows on FOX saying every swear word in the book, tv shows have people sleeping w/ a new person every week, and reality shows have people eating magets & whatever the hell else goes on. Weed is legal to show on tv as entertainment and to listen to these rappers talking about selling keys of coke, but then I wanna drive around w/ a nickel bag & I get 5 years!!!! Lets not get started on MTV and all these media outlets selling people off on fads, telling everyone whats "cool" right now, and every station reporting the same f@cking news on sh!t nobody cares about or relates to!!!! Then someone wants to be different & their labeled outcasts now?!?! The FCC / RIAA / FBI / President or any other government agency can kiss my ass right about now!

i was pretty disturbed by that footage of the dead sons. that was ing gross.
all i was seeing was justin during the superbowl anyways so i didn't see too much of the boob. :) :) :) |
