what you see on your diluted bbc networks really doesnt show you the first person perspective. |
In what way is the BBC 'diluted' compared to the US media? :conf: |

| well im saying when they report about US things like they did that 1 report they asked people easy questions and got them wrong (wow the power of video editing/filtering) it just isnt the whole story and really doesnt give a good name about the US. i dunno just my opinion |

if you have never lived in america, dont say . what you see on your diluted bbc networks really doesnt show you the first person perspective. just stop generalizing and saying america. say the government, most americans, texans, or whatever (heh) just get off sirocco and other tas backs. |
Well in Texas there are lots of decent people in the cities, but lots of wackos in the rural places. So it gives the whole state a bad name. Same for the US I guess. |

I must be blind or something, but you just mentioned 'that 1 report'. I can't see a link to a BBC report in this thread, which report in particular are you talking about. I've always found the BBC to be excellent (I'm talking about their on-line news site & world service radio here, I don't live in the UK and as such don't get any of their TV stations), hell, I trust the BBC a hell of a lot more than any of the major US media outlets. |

Morals: Some people think nudity isn't moral in certain circumstances. It's why you don't walk around publicly naked when it's hot. Why? I don't know but somehow it turned out that way so that's how it is.
|
It's from Christianity/Judaism, when Adam ate the apple form the tree of knowledge he released he was naked, beforehand he was obvlious to the fact. |

yes, i would probably agree with this statement. i've also never been to USA, but it's kinda disturbing when almost 3billion ppl worldwide think of america as a big monastery where mini-skirt/etc is a devils tool. LOL it's so funny when you do that fuss over one tit like old-retarded-nuns;) immagine [just immagine, cuz that won't happen ever] if ppl in europe would write articles - "Monica Bellucci showed her naked body again" or "Laetitia Casta naked in public" - everybody would think about an author of these as a total idiot; at the same time america goes crazy that they've seen Janets nipple! wow!

as already mentioned was the fact that it happened during an hour when children might be watching. |
SO IN WHAT!!! eh?! do you think children will grow up as rapists/murderers or sexual maniacs if they see a naked human body? don't you have books "where do i come from" or "funny about sex" for 7-12 year olds???
that's sooooo stupid! i'd probably advise americans to cloister all the clhildrens to churches or kill all those who have seen a boob or smth [you have no scruple about killing as some actions show]. |

well, some of here in america still have morality issuse when it comes to wats on TV. i hate watching MTV because of all the filth on it that i definently don't want my sisters to emulate. My older sister (who has down syndrome) is a very influenced person by wats on TV. At her school, the irresponsible teachers cuss and i hear her sometimes say "" when things go wrong. My younger sister is going through her early teens and so now she is getting into short shirts and very careful about how she looks out in the open. The last thing i want my sisters to "emulate" is taking off clothes, exposing themselves, or feeling it is ok for a man to grab them in a provocative way.
That's the way america is and there is no reason to bash it. Your country has its standards and we have ours.
But yes, i do agree that there is a lot of bull going on by wat airs on TV in america. We don't promote nudity, but we promote girls shaking their asses and bouncing their chests? We don't promote language, but we are hearing words like "bitch" and "f*g", even during primetime? We don't promote violence, but we can have storylines where gangsters are activley speaking to put a hit on other people?
U may not be offended by it, but there are also a lot of people that do find it offensive. Just because we don't follow YOUR standards is no reason to start bashing us. |

| Okay i completely disagree. First of all, i love the states. Second of all, everyone knows the media is a bunch of bull, and reflects none of us. YOu have to completely ignore it and educate yourself. Whats that famous saying by Leary? oh yeah, think for yourself, question authority. And third of all, you all are being completely ridiculous. You wonder why every 16 year old has a kid, and thats because we have all this television (yes little girls watch it too) that show that its okay to dress like a little slut, and show your boob and . but hey thats just my opinion. We also have people that are christian (actually almost all of the population), who believe that you should dress conservatively...Oh and there are people who don't want their kids to be exposed to cussing, drugs, sex, nudity, and all this other bull. Its not that we so damn uptight, its that consider the public. Personally I don't care if someone lights up a j in front of me...but i'm not about to do it in front of a kid, its just not right...seriously guys |

The media is ok though to have a big fat guy show us his hairy man boobs at a basketball or football game. Its so rediculous how all the parents of america protest at the human body being exposed and they offer no good reason other than its corrupting our children. Parents just need to use Janet's boob as their excuse for bad parenting and for american children's problems. Seeing a boob isnt going to stop the world, turn children into murderers. People here need excuses and this is just one of them. Its been movies, video games, alcohol, sex, vulgar, and now the boob that changed america. |
oh yeah video games make me violent |
