lets just remember here that the bible is written by four different people..i bet if i tell a long story to 4 of u each will interpit it differently..it will be hard for 4 to see it from the same exact point..so there might be some diffrences which is understndable..and ever thought that thier might be events that werent in the bible at all..missing scriptures.lets remember here that it is not written by jesus himslef and it is the only account we have..did anyone see the movie stigmata? good movie..also shows that there could be other scriptures that we dont know about...i totally believe in the bible but i see how it could be incomplete..if u see the movie stigmata it tells u about a scripture that was missing and it says..god is in u and all around u ask for him and he shall be there with some other quotes that i truly belive...that is what faith is about..if u try to be a religious person n truly truly believe...u will feel that..when a miracle happen to u,when turn to him for the tough times and come out on top when u feel his presence around u..that is how u become a believer..not by seein some stars and goin someone must of made them.. |
You gotta wonder, why doesn't Jehovah just step down off his in' cloud and speak to the world, guaranteed he would convert 75% of the world's population..
of course, he would have to exist in the first place.. oops.. I mean.. |

well wouldnt it be easy if just jesus camme back did bunch of miracles and proved himself to the world..then how do u tell the non believers and the faithful to those who followed just because he came back...what good is a test if u already know the answers for it. |

i mean no offense, but actually i think that your jusitfication is worse than someone who wonders why the world was created. if you live your life as someone who does not embrace a religion, but then you have a hard time, say a relative dies and you are trying to decide what to do, the introduction of religion into your life at this point seems trivial. if your faith begins from pain then you should think about your actual beliefs and why they arised. if you turn to him under tough times and come out with a sense of improvement that is great, but think about what has happened. you were unhappy, you convinced yourself of something in order to make yourself feel better. lets say i was starving to death. if i had the ability to convince myself that i was no longer hungry and it solved the problem, that may change the fact that i now don't feel hungry, but any belief in the fact that you have avoided whatever it is you were experiencing to create a new reality for yourself.
if there is some miraculous experience that you experience however, and i'm talking about a baby being saved after complications, i'm talking about a real interaction, at least in your mind, where something comes to you, then i could see one believing. or like i said earlier if you sit down and think out the origins of life and come to a conclusion that you can defend and agree with, then i think that is justified, but just to accept that which others tell someone without any kind of basis is just ignorance at its greatest. |

At least respect your savior enough to capitalize his name. I wasn't even talking about Jesus, I was talking about your God. The Man who sits upstairs and 'loves' every one of us, unless of course, you masturbate, or listen to Rock and Roll; then you just burn and suffer eternally. The whole theory behind Christianity and Catholicism is control. "God is watching you, he has 6.5 billion eyes and he sees every damn thing you do, and if you don't do what I say (Woops.. I mean God, of course.. the government would never use religion as a means of control, what am I thinking..?) then you're surely going to Hell forever, and ever and ever and ever..
I just find it somewhat hard to believe that someone as omnipotent and as allknowing as God can be so immature and unforgiving in the end. It makes no sense. Why have such a vast and unstoppable universe if we (as imperfect as we are) are the only residents?
Oh yeah.. that whole Big Bang thing, with the evolution and the billions of years of process.. riiiight.
Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so please don't take this as a flame. |

I posted about sex and love, and a little bit of religion, but i'm not very educated on the topic of religion, so I kept it simple.
I guess they all go hand in hand...plus the original post (thread starter) brought up religion. I am really impressed with the general knowledge of most TA's on here. Bunch of smarty pants:D |

i agree with alot of what u say..although i am a devoted christian..there is alot of stuff i find hard to believe..i do not think if u sin once then thats it to hell u go cause god is the only one is without sin..i do not believe that if u r not christian then to hell u go..cause some people r born into a religion and they could be alot better person than most christians does that mean still they r goin to hell..lets remember that christianity is the one of the first religion and jesus is a jew and all other religions came after that so i dont think he mentioned anything about them..i also find it strange having an extra collection to put a new 30k roof where sister churches having trouble feeding thhier people..christianity is about humblness where does it say that churches must look like castles? at the end of the day the way i view things is i believe in god and his learnings..u have the ten commandments that sum up the sins of the world. u should try to stay away from them but if u do comit them and ask for forgivness..try to live a good life by loving everybody,be forgiving and helpful,do not hate,do not judge and live a hmble life..at the end of the day u r judged on a balanced situation the good against the bad. thats what I think of religion..why i believe in it..simple makes sence to me,provides meaningful guidelines, makes me feel good and the most important reason i actually FEEL IT AND THE PRESENCE OF GOD..thank u i am out... |
