This is going to be quite the spectacle, and I won't be there. I'll have more fun listening to the reviews. I've been to Distrikt...the sound is nice, but that's not the point.
there's a style code, no jeans are allowed. so, with the kind of crowd that commands:
a. have fun partying with them to picotto?
b. lifting the style code for picotto? i would assume they'd have to, but that changes their image completely.
for some reason, i can't see this happening...they have 250 people in lineups at 11:30 with a packed club in the winter. why fix what isn't broken? |
It sounds like I won't be oging to this one then!..someone talk to MAURO to change venue:eyespop: :stongue: |

| I haven't missed Mauro in all the times he's come to Toronto but I have to agree with nat and others that not even Mauro could make me want to spend any amount of time at Distrikt. Another one of those wanna-be "upscale, high class, gino bars". I really wish Mauro would play somewhere else...anywhere else. I think he'll quickly realize how different a scene it is than all the other times he's spun here. I can tell you, it will be amazing if any dancing breaks out in that place. It really is too bad they're able to bring in a top talent DJ like Mauro to a venue like that where his performance won't be nearly appreciated as it would be anywhere else. If you think you've seen bad lineups there on regular nights - you don't even want to think about how bad this is gonna be! Not to mention how much they'll charge.... |

is the spectre of neo-Ginoism looming.. ?

I think I finally understand what Gino/Gina means...
People who are fake, and like to dress to impress, and they wanna go to clubs to hook up (not for the music). Am I right? |

Pretty much, yeah.
Besides, Mauro's booking agent is based in TO- he should know better than to book him at a place like that. |

| If this is this same weekend as O'Bir, count me out of Distrikt and count me in for O ing Bir! Support the TA DJ TALENT. (Also dress code to see Picotto? Meh...) It's doable who knows if I will go. |

but it, i'm still going, even if i don't hook up that night!
one of my buddies will go with me for sure, he loves dress code! |

| I wouldn't say dressing to impress defines a gina/gino - you can't fault someone b/c they like to wear nice things and look good when they go out. |

Your right Skippy.
I prefer that to the shirtless grease-balls you can smell from a mile away |
