| I don't know, after seeing so many people call Scooter "techno", nothing surprises me anymore! |

90% of all Paul's reworks are done for his livesets and not releases. For example, almost 3 years are over and we still have no vinyl with the great Sound Design - Happiness (Paul van Dyk's Happy Remix), just because the labels cannot manage the copyright things... | was it not the tall paul mix or something that he used to play of this? i always thought it was.:conf: |

Well I can't be bothered to go through his entire back catalogue, don't feel like torturing myself right now. |

| been reading throught the posts... sure seems like everyone is pointing fingers and making an aweful lot of assumptions... I guess if that was the intent.. just to bash the dj we don't like and excuse the one we do... then goal accomplished... but I find it really kind of sad that we would put words into someone's mouth that were never actually said... (no matter who it is) Besides... even dj's have music they like or dislike and opinions on what they see happening in the arena they work in... and we don't have to agree with them anymore than people have to agree with us. Just a little respect for others opinions is never a bad thing :) |

I've only heard like 75% of CD1 of TPOD... but almost in every tune he has added his own beat, correct ? Like I said, i've only heard CD1.
And I haven't heard a lot of those tunes before (the original versions), so can't really tell if they're remixed or re-edited.
But if PvD has touched all of them, then I can hardly believe that he remixed them all.
Cause PvD says in the album cover thingy that the tunes are remixed and NOT socalled re-edited... is that true ?
Btw, The Space Brothers - Everywhere I Go (PvD Remix) <-- well that is ridiculous... it sounds identical to the Push Remix.
Guess he's done this with loads of tunes, haven't listened very much to PvD throughout the years. |

That's just cos someone mislabeled it. It's just another one of his reworks. |

Paul never takes any credit for his reworks... |
...but he does seem extremely keen on attaching his name to as many tracks as possible, and that's one of the things that annoys me about PvD - when he's not busy recycling his own sound in the form of another 5 identical-sounding productions, he's chewing up and spitting out other people's work, more often than not stripping tracks of their identity and depth. Of course, PvD's army of disciples instantly favour his five-minute job over the original version... |

*sigh*
I'm sure the "army of PvD disciples" has told you dozens of times why PvD does his reworks, so why do you insist on flogging a dead horse?
Also,in many cases, PvD's reworks do improve tunes (good examples are Blackeight - The Silence where the edit takes out some awful vocal bits and leaves the good ones intact, along with Noemi - Y.O.U (Mezziah Mix), where he removed a horrendously cheesy section which in the original version ruined a potentially nice tune). This is of course all a matter of taste, so I'm not gonna try to convince you that his reworks are good, but please drop the oh so worn out "vandit bandit"-generalization, we got the point ages ago. |
