Not that it Matters for me as I'm well above that age, but are they Legally entitled to refuse entry to those under that age of 21.
What! Are they a USA Club operating in Canada?
Also is this just for specific Events or Always.

Just curious why this is so and do they serve alcohol?

p.s. Don't respond that they are a private club and can do what they want because then one could argue the fact that they could let in those under the age of 19.

I saw the bouncers let in some younger looking people. They were dressed nice of course. Also saw them turn away two guys but they hung around talked to the bouncer (plus I think they gave him something) and they were let in. I think the 21 age limit is to create a certain ambience in the club. I think they have a right to do so and when I go there I see the difference. btw, they do not serve alcohol.

In all honesty, I love the time I've spent @ Boa, but save for the regular scene peeps I know from my years in the scene, the Boa crowd has left a lot to be desired for me.

It seems to be a very hoity-toity bunch of model-types @ this point, but the good news is there are enough nutty s like myself to balance it out @ this point. :toothless

Reminds me a lot of Industry's crowd in the final year, equal amount of hard-core and voyuer.

agreed... i think they're only doing it because they want to feel "different" than most major clubs in Toronto. It's only another publicity stunt, pretty much like their "50%" sound system. Lame ways for publicity... but it works apparently.

k, but what's wrong with doing something different?

Boa could let in people under 19 because they don't serve alcohol.
Without alcohol being served there are no age regulations.

^^^ Exactly.

Running something as a private club, they could refuse you entry because they don't like the shirt you're wearing ;) No one has the "right" to get in.

The over 21, no liquor, doors open at 1am, etc...all that is a marketing strategy. I don't think this has as much to do with luring a different crowd as it does with Boa seeking to differentiate itself from virtually all other large and/or established clubs.

Not having a liquor license removes a lot of revenue (if they opened up earlier than 1am)...but they also avoid a lot of scrutiny (like from the police)...Boa has no worries about getting in trouble for underage admittance/drinking, serving people who are drunk, etc. Granted the whole drug issue is the same as any other club...

I'm looking forward to finally checking this place out next weekend :)

Good question Bubblegirl... but with all this talk of a 'Dress Code'
it looks as though I will have to go dressed up, heels n'all. But I want to make sure I wont be the only one in dressy attire:nervous: So can someone comfirm that has been to Boa?
