Hello again people, I was wondering what is your opinion about progressive trance? I started to like it way back in october last year when Nicholas Bennison, D:Fuse and some others cama to spin live to my hometown. I thought it was like a new trend or something but I was Mistaken, but whwnever some progrssive tracks or livesets have been posted I see that the rankings are low, Why don't many people like it? or if you like it why do you like it?
Thanx!
Eugene
I don't like it.

I've been listening to epic/uplifting/hard for quite some time, and NEVER felt the urge to switch to boring progressive.
Positiva
PvD is the only progressive i have ever really liked, i usually play it when my girlfriend is over because its slow and she cant handle hard house yet.
DJ Fien
Love it! Infact, its what I spin...amazing stuff.

same here eugene. always been an uplifting fan, never liked progressive. doesnt provide as much energy for me. dont like progressive. in fact pvd's progressive doesnt appeal to me. its too chill out.

All trance is great, even progressive....
Paul Wilson
I like Bedrock, Way Out West and Sander Kleinenberg.
TurboGS-R
i agree with eugene and trance control. progressive just doesn't hit the spot for me. i'm just a sucker for uplifting/epic trance.
KaNoS
I love it. I like the ambient its puts me in, kinda chilled, and it tranceports me way more than uplifting, that doesnt means i dont like uplifting, i love it too.

por cierto Daffer, donde vivies? D.F.?

um PvD isnt progressive buddy.. :D

i like some prog, i dont like digweed's sound anymore, i love sasha's old stuff. i LOVE way out west. they're not really progressive to me, but i guess to y'all. bedrock is pretty good sometimes, no tenaglia please and sander is a maybe.

nick warren for sure.
progressive trance? seaman all the way.

progressive is WAY too big a genre to pigeonhole tho

What's wrong with Digweed's sound? He's starting to sound even more evil these days :D Old Sasha stuff rules. I think epic/uplifting is great but sometimes the intro/peak/breakdown routine gets a bit tired and stops meaning anything. That's when I like to plug in some prog and go on a little journey.
Eugene
What I don't like is when people say that epic/uplifting is "not deep enough." It's VERY deep. When, after a break in the beat, the sounds of synth emerge and swirl all around you, preparing you for a journey of fantastic colors, and the energy blazes all through your body -- from head down to toes, that's a deep psychological experience!

I agree it can be tiring if there's too much of it, but... it's equally, if not more, deep than the tribal and minimalist sounds that you call "deep progressive." Just my opinion.
