i got a BIG dilemma!!! theres a happy hardcore event called Frequency being held on the same night in sydney!! its got a bunch of my fave local DJs..eg Suae, Weaver, Matrix and Tom-e.. but i so wanna goto Thirst too!! coz Tiesto is only playing for 2.5hrs.. i dunno if its really worth it?? if u guys reckon its gonna be btr than AVB then im there!! coz AVB blew my socks off!! but i guess i should jump on the opportunity to see Tiesto shouldnt i? coz who knows wen he'll be back..
oh yeh btw.. is da dress code da same as Sublime? or is it diff?? coz i heard da dresscode for Together@Home is diff to subbies.. :conf:

I don't think it'll top Armin, but I'll be there anyway.

I haven't been to a house-style event at Home so this will be the opportunity. I'll check out Pete Tong as well out of curiosity.

Let's hope Jumping Jack will play melodic trance... I think there's a chance that he will. :) It certainly won't be the hard techno that he would play at Voodoo on Friday, judging from the feel of the event.

That DJ competition doesn't feel too right. Being able to mix
5 tracks in 15 minutes well is skillful, but I'm not going to want to pay to see such a DJ unless she/he will play the musical style I like. Style of music comes first, skill is secondary. The style of music is usually the strongest attribute of a DJ e.g. when we think of Armin we think of uplifting melodic trance, when we think of Roger Sanchez we think of house. That DJ competition was only about skill, and as Leigh said maybe the finalists were all house/breaks music DJs because it's the styles of music other than trance through which skills can best be seen. Or maybe the judging panel was biased towards house because of their personal tastes. Or maybe the sponsor has something to do with it, thinking house music is more accessible to the mainstream and thus more commercially-viable. Whatever the reasons are, I share the disappointment of the lack of exposure of trance in this case.

well it looks like i'll come out of the woodwork and check this out too. Should be fun and good to see everyone again and i'm sure we'll all have a good time even if it's true that tiesto's lost that lovin' feeling :eyespop: :haha:
