Why does Hardware Sound Better than VST? (pg. 4)

Vert, one day when u get a job and make real money you'll buy hardware. Right now cracked warez programs are the only way you can make music. And that's fine for a 17 year old, cause I learned to make music with vsts also. but if you could download a virus c on a warez site you would not be using vanguard or whatever vst you use. Real musicians use hardware.

You want proof, well I told you, go in a/b a vstation next to a kstation. Are u incoherent? Get your buspass and go to the music shop and prove me wrong. Your not the only kid on here with a lack of respect for there peers. when i was your age I didn't have a big mouth , cause if i did, i got a big kick in the ass. |

Hey. How bout taking a chillpill instead of steroids. Threaten someone with asskicking cuz of a debate over softsynths vs hardware is at the lower end of pathetic and immaturity if you ask me.
I dont know about the V or K-stations, have neither, but Sound on Sound ran a review of the V-station, and not only did he think it sounded as good as the K-station, but sometimes even better.
So yes, maybe there are something wrong with your ears, or whats inbetween.
And pointing at the ridiculous Slayer 2 as anything to go by, is a cheap-shot if i ever saw one.
If you've just bought a synth, hardware or software, you'll allways try to defend your spendings/decision. |

Yes I have. It's actually quite small in regard to the equipment in there. There's a virus, a supernova 2 and a CS6X. Supernova 2 for bass, virus for leads. But he's giving them to me in exchange for a FM7 and vengaurd cos they sound just as good.:rolleyes: |

I don't take steroids, what you see is all natural and hard work beyond anything you can possibly ever imagine. To get that body without steroids you gotta work 10 times harder than someone on anabolics. Don't get me started on the whole anabolic /bodybuilding issue cause you really don't want to get me started on that. I've been in the Iron Game 10 years.
BT had his studio robbed and with it a hell of alot of hardware synths. That is why he has so few hardware synths. Hardware isn't cheap.BT doesn't sell millions of cds like Eminem. He's not made of money.
As for that review, I never read it, and no my ears are just fine. Even the store clerk said the k-station sounded much better. We were in a acoustically treated sound room , with the kstation and vstation playing through mackie hr824's. The vstation lacked balls and was much thinner and less transparent than the kstation. The filters were much smoother on the kstation and the effects sounded way better. A guy on KVR did a side by side test where he played the same patches on both the v and the k, and the k was substantially better. More open detailed sound and much thicker.
One guys opinion on SOS does not justify anything.

If software costed 3000$ like hardware and wasnt crackable everyone would be downloading free vsts like superwave pro and saying , it's just as good as vanguard , zeta, albino, and vstation. You don't need those 3000$ vsts to make great tracks. |

You have a huge ego and you think you are always right, when obviously you aren't. In anyway how is my post disrespectful, if anyone's is it is yours. I admit though, I don't respect your opinions anymore.
Your problem is that when someone prooves you wrong, andd your ego is damaged, you get pissed off and hypocritical. Chill out, and be a bit more mature when you respond next time.

4. software is more widely used bcause its available illegaly yes, but if hardware was available illegaly aswell, then not everyone would still want to use it, the only reason i would rather use hardware is for live performances, and thats just for stability.

1. they actually didnt make virus banks, a third party group, with NOTHING at all to do with ReFx, made a set of presets for vanguard, which they just called virus dreams, has nothing to do with the access virus, although some say it sounds similar. i dunno where you get your facts from, but you need to take your head out those gay mags and maybe go back to school. |

umm nope! that guys review isnt based in the context of trance production. That guy doesn't have the trance knowledge i have , and if you were making video game music vsts are fine. you want dumonde style leads, sorry, u aint gettin it with vstation.

Only on a forum like this can a thread this stupid last. On a real forum with real professional musicians with hardware, this thread would of not even be discussed, its ridiculous. I was hoping to clear up some misconceptions. I was part of the vst bandwagon and though vsts are as good as hardware. it took what visit to the music shop to change my mind. your trying to tell me a vst thats costs 1/20th the price of a hardware synth is just as good. If thats the case than all high quality high end electronics arent better than consumer brands u find at your local electronic outlet. I purchased a harmon kardon reciever, cd player, and mission speakers 10 year ago for 4000 dollars at a high fidelity shop and it still sounds better than anything sony or panasonic has out there on the showroom floor. There is a reason things costs more. Behnringer 2031 monitors compared to mackie 824's, go listen to them and tell me if they sounmd the same. the 824's are 5 times the price for a reason cause they sound 5 times better. By saying 100 dollar vsts sound as good as 3000 dollar hardware synth, in essense yuor saying high fidelity, high end electronics arent better than stuff you find at your local walmart. Go buy a pair of pants at walmart for 20 bucks and go buy a pair at Hugo Boss or D&G and give them a couple washes. tell which one still looks new without holes. My brother bought a pair of skates, bauer supreme 3000's 14 year ago for 300 dollars. he still uses them today and they still are great. why? because they are high quality. not 50 bucks imitation crap at walmart. it seems some of you dont want to face facts, then dont but dont call me immature, cause some ignorant people dont have the balls to say the truth. telling me im on steroids isnt immature? lack of education. you think ihavent heard that begore. little tennage boys at the gym staring at me and saying to their friends hes on steroids man. when in fact while they are training there tongues and checking out chicks ive already gone through 16 sets of chest before they even do their first warmup set. everything i do in my life, everything i believe in, i am passionate about, whether it be Jesus, bodybuilding, trance or this thread. You wanna tell me Jesus isnt the son of God, well your gonna hear it from me too! |
