it's not true that it will only bring clubbers ! i'd go REALLY MORE OFTEN IF I COULD LEAVE @ 4, i'd be there every week-end ! even if i had to pay more.... what really stops me of going is the time for shure

how come hip hop rooms are always packed even if its afterhours? maybe it has nothing to do with the hours but more with the dj fanbase and the usual afterhours goeres. most of the times i go, i see the same people every time im there.

i don't think it has nothing to do with hours, it has to do with the popularity of the djs.

raul you have a point...

but doest it help having the djs start at 4-5 am ?
mastercongo
well i guess it depends in your way of thinking. i got used to all of this that now when i go out it's impossible to go back home earlier than 8am :P im used to this. and i guess it was ok for me since i come from mexico where alcohol is sold 24/7 and clubs sell it till 6am. and you can still buy it in afterhours there.

anyway i think i got a bit off topic. but maybe it would be great idea for earlier times, but i still think people who like this music will be there no matter what times.

DEFINITELY!

my $0.02...

if i lived in the city, i would prob prefer the headliner starting around 2 and going till 6-8.

montreal is nice because i have to drive 4.5 hours after work on friday to get there. then we eat dinner, go to bed, get up at 3am, and arrive at aria right before 4. it's nice because otherwise i'd be up from 6am on friday till late saturday morning and that is REALLY HARD. the 3-4 hour nap before the party is purrfect.

:)

I would DEFINITELY go out more...and would ALWAYS be at ARIA if the djs played earlier...lets take Dagobert for exemple...I would like that 10000 times more!!

jpx you won't go even if they play infront of your house. :stongue:

you never go. i dont even want to ask when would we see you again? other than when meo plays.

comming from an inexperienced after hours go'er (1 event) it was the crazy hours that kinda held me back from going in the first place. i mean if you think about it, going till 9am or whatever is a big commitment...alot of people have to work (which is why i missed ferry corsten) and i never totally understood why they had such late/early apperances in the first place. so i vote yes. i goto TONS of punk/guitar driven shows but it's rare i goto an event becuase of work, or other engagements the day it ends.

good point you got there Jpx... I really think that people would go out more often if it wasn't for the late hours. Take Dagobert (I know it's not an afterhour so please don't bother telling me!)for instance... guest DJ starts at 12h30 and plays till around 3h30. For me it's perfect, I can even go to school at 8h30 in the morning the next day without being f**ked up!

So my point is.. take that time slot (or maybe 1h30), add a few extra hours (which an afterhour can afford because it's not regulated as a bar is) and you've got something much better than the actual situation...

and if it drags more people to the place and that edm becomes more popular, then so be it! why are people so afraid of that!!

anyway... my 2 cents
:p

i voted yes

but really time dosnt matter to me
as long as there is good music i can stay awake and i will still go to aria evry week

and im not into it that much at 12 o clock

all of us here go to afterhours often... thats very true. But would we go more often or have less things come up in the way if we wanted to go?? thats the real question.

If I take myself as an example, I would say yes because there's many times i overslept thru some events because of the hours... also, many friends of mine just don't want to come when they think that the next day is basically gone down the drain.
