I've not had a GF in too many years, and the last one wasn't even a proper GF, I dumped her because I knew it wouldn't last, I was just under pressure to go out with her from friends etc, so I think I did the right thing instead of just playing along and saying I did like her...

I wonder if I am more in love with the thought of being loved than the actual person...
This shred of doubt will remain until I hear the other person reciprocate similar emotions and actually say the words 'I love you'.
