Downhill though. |
That's pretty damn fast on a bicycle. Most people can't handle that speed. The fastest i've been on my bike was 71kph downhill.
42.5kph on flat ground... I could've gone faster but I lacked the gearing to do so.
as for 4 wheel vehicles.
230kph on the 407 in a BMW 320i |

yea, it was a really long strip of asphalt going downhill; my gears were maxed out, and i was pedaling as fast as I could too. |

And where is this, now famous strip of asphalt?
and what kind of bicycle did you do this on? A good one or a canadian tire special? |

lol; this is VERY far away, back in the old country (Poland).
The main road leading to my cousins cottage is a very in long uphill/downhill asphalt road (like a 4-5 minute ride by car). Sometimes it levels out, then dips again for a bit, the levels out...etc etc etc.
I did on my bike there. I don't know who made it, but I'm pretty sure the frame is made by Biria Germany. And the tires weren't like the standard moutain bike tires. They had all the grooves, but were an inch or 2 thinner.
I wouldn't try it again on that bike though, since it's not in the condition it used to be. |

I laugh at all the people who say "oh yeah! hyundai pony, 230 km/h"...
How many of you people even own cars with Z rated tires?
How many of you people even known what a front spoiler is, what it does - or have one on your car?
Perhaps you guys haven't seen a RACE CAR blow a tire @ 250 km/h - let alone some 1982 camry. Or how about throwing a piston through the hood of your 4-banger @ 200 km/h.
You all know about how I feel WHERE one should drive fast (at the track) - but consider this:
If you want to drive fast - get the proper equipment. Your Caravan isn't made to do 200, let alone 150.
Unless you have a Type R, S series, SVT or some other factory tuned vehicle or have spent the time and money to invest in proper parts to go 200+ km/h - DONT.
Just think about how your mom/gf would feel going to your funeral - becuase you chose to take your Geo Metro up to 210 km/h..... |

A revolutionary jet engine flew faster than seven times the speed of sound in a high altitude test over the Pacific at the weekend, breaking the world speed record for an atmospheric engine.
NASA's pilotless research vehicle hit slightly more than Mach 7, about 8000 kilometres per hour, during 11 seconds of powered flight. It then glided at hypersonic speeds for several minutes before plunging into the ocean. |

I second that!!!. I hope all of you have done your "top speeds" on the track, where it is meant to be done. |
