Well, if you're a newcomer to the scene, Trance only seems like it's all the same at first. It's difficult to discern what's what and by who. Everyone, in the beginning, has a very frustrating first couple of months trying to untangle the mess we hear, but eventually you'll get the hang of it and soon be able to name the names of the artists and songs right out of the air (especially those nasty ones with no vocals :D), like a biologist who can tell gorillas apart in a pack. You'll also be able to sense the different feelings each artist (thus style) tries to convey in his tracks. |

| Depends on the artist or DJ, but on the whole trance in its current form has been repeating since 1999. The only deviations I've heard since then are Ferry's electro-trance experiments and some tech-trance finally growing beyond Marco V and Lieb. |

Is the earth repeating rotating?
Is your life repeating as boring?
Is human repeating all the mistakes found in history? |

:haha:
it is getting a bit repetetive in the sense of style and effects used. the old splink plonk sounds coined by mr helstrip years ago are popping up in tunes all over the joint these days, along with the "wet" acid effects first spawned on a grand scale by ronski speed.
IMO you cant help similar sounding melodies but when it comes to the stuff i mentioned above, there is plenty of room to innovate. people are just sticking to the tried and testing (and record selling) formula. |
