PvD, Tiesto & Armin are like the "pop" stars of the DJ world, they keep making all the money because they play the crowd pleasing stuff (which is fine) but they don't dive into the real depth of EDM, they just like to take the easy road and float on the easy to digest superficial side of it...just my 2 cents.

They had to obviously do something right to get in the positions they are in now. No matter what path they took, they worked hard to get there. And this didn't just happen over a few years, try close to a life time.

They deserve to have a break, sit back, and enjoy their loads of cash, bitches and fame.

Armin is WAY better than PVD, PVD just has more name recognition.

Armin's star is rising, PVD's moon is waning... he's too much of a dick everywhere he goes and he's way too full of himself

I think you really got a lot of people wild up with this thread Akelius, I like both PvD and AvB, they both had a really good year, but I think the Top 100 is just a snap shot of how popular a DJ is, so by establishing this I think PvD deserves all the recognitions for his work in 2003 and through out his long carrer as a great trance DJ/Producer, infact I think PvD sure be #1 DJ in the world, as for AvB he's still young and hasn't been around for along time, he will be the #1 Dj in the world one day, may be next year or may be 2 years from now, as for his remixabilities? yes I think AvB is by far the best remixer, who has more great remixes than him?

all I want is sasha #1 ;)

Armin will play solid trance, some mix some prog. Nothing really to hard. His mixing is fine, but he never plays thoes "amazing" tracks, and he rearly drops an ID. So you basically know what to expect....an extended asot...imo that put you anywhere nearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr tijs or paul

Here's mine review:

First the pre-dinner, about 15 or so TA show up from Ga,TN,and NC. Dinner went well although we would love for Armin to join us. 11:15 we all head over to the club. Starting DJ was alrite, doing his usual job of pumping crowd up. Armin came on strong at 1:15 and finish at 3:45. Armin worked the crowd like crazy as usual and mixing was amazing. He ended his set with a couple of autographs, ASOT 2004 and free vinyls. About half of the TA group got something free :)

Of course I grab a vinyl when armin was giving it out.

A State Of Trance 2004

His live sets...

Armin Van Buuren - Live @ Extrema (1-27-2001)

Not to mention his productions (just to name a few)...

Communication

Yet Another Day
Walhalla & Tenshi (+ other collabs)

He's also made MANY great remixes...

He has "A State Of Trance" every Thursday...

He's a fan of great music and a true fan of the fans!

Armin van Buuren can mix well, can produce even better, can put together a great set and is a great DJ personality...PvD is just Eh to me. PvD is more of a producer than a DJ, whens the last time he released a ing mix comp?

I dunno, I definetly think Armin should be ahead of PvD.

But the DJ Top 100 is a bunch of CRAP anyway...man a lot of those DJ's should be much higher and a lot of them should be a lot lower. Why the is Oakenfold still in the top 10? He needs to be in the top 20 at least!
