if this is true,I cant wait for it to happen,I work at a club and Iam a victim of second hand smoking and I have asthma too,so this will help me alot,if it is true!!:)

Nope. No joke.

A lot of municipalities have gone smoke free and lemmie tell you; there is a big difference!

I'll be so glad when some of my favorite places go smoke free...

I won't feel so grimey and smell like a bum when I get home...I ALWAYS have to shower before I go to bed otherwise... in the mornin'

I have some friends who are pretty heavy smokers.. and its scary to think that at 25 they already sound like they have chronic bronchitis any time they cough..

It also makes me laugh when people are health conscious in all other areas but stay true to their smoking habit, ah well, personally I don't mind the 'smoke' - just the stink that comes from it.

No !!! They just died of second hand smoke....nobody could tell where the second hand smoke came from !!!
And I DO know people who died of lung cancer due to second hand smoke only.

yeah, so do i. and all these people lived with smokers.

But it is possible! Both my grandfathers quit smoking when they were in their 70's, and had been smoking for at least 4 decades. Unfortunately, it was too late for either of them - one died of cancer and the other now has emphysema and can barely string 2 sentences together. But you Miki - you have LOTS of time...

That's a horribly weak argument. The weather is what it is. You make the conscious decision to go outside in that weather to smoke. The blame for anything that would result from that lies on no one but yourself. :thepirate

That doesn't make sense to me either. I have a friend who's training for a marathon or something and he's got great eating and exercise habits, yet he insists on smoking daily... :conf:

im gona be so happy if this passes.

im one of those "social" smokers that likes to smoke in dark places packed with others who are smoking... so if its smoke free then i wont have that craving!

and plus... i wont stink like smoke when i get home :tongue2
hardcore trancer
so smoking will be ban only at some places not all?:conf:

Clubs was the main reason I started smoking in the first place. You know how it goes.. first it's one smoke in a club. next thing you know it's a few packs a week.

Yea.. that's my story too... but it's like a pack every 2 weeks :P...

Anyhow... i really don't think this law will be enforced strictly. I forsee many smoke filled nights @ system in the future :toothless :toothless

It is possible to quit. If you say it's not, you probably don't want to deep down.

My grandfather quit after 50 years, as did my grandmother. My dad quit after about 30 - just got up one day and said "that's it."
