I have known about this for two years (it's been 3 years in the making) and have been counting the days. Sorry buddy, but no sympathy here. If you were a non-smoker with allergies to tobacco smoke and had to put up with what I've put up with just to be able to feed my passion for dancing, then you'd understand.

The entire state of California has been smoke free for 5 years now (or close to that) and all of Canada should be too. Excercise your "freedom" somewhere where it doesn't affect other people. I'd love to excercise the freedom to drive my car past the red line whenever I want regardless of personal consequences, yet society doesn't allow me to for the safety of others, and that's OK. And my car cost much more than your smokes.

And for those who think the law won't be enforced, I for one WILL file formal complaints or contact media, etc if it is not enforced in any club I go to, even our beloved System. Sorry, but once it's the law, it's not negotiable.

Down with the smoke. I hate smoke in clubs and it's about time they put in this by-law. Now what I want to see is for them to actually enforce it.

PS> I guess this means the end of whatever tobacco sponsorship is still going on in nightclubs?

I have a friend who's training for a marathon or something and he's got great eating and exercise habits, yet he insists on smoking daily...

Well, its not like running a marathon is actually healthy anyway.

but if i can go to smoking area every 15-20-30 min for a smoke im sure nonsmokers should understand my need and could move somewhere else, right?

Sure, and the smoke will follow them.

i've heared about it since mid may last year. i'm glad to see it's actually passing.

i personally would love to experience clubbing without going home stinking like one.

for once my closest will smell like clean laundry and not a bar. it stinks up the whole house even.

given my asthma case, it sure would love to breath easier in clubs. this very much might encourage alotta ppl to do some serious partying.

HOLY....

so many replies and not one person agrees with me

well i still dont understand how they can pass stupid law like this one (mass behaviour modification -no smoking-no drinking-no dancing-no unprotected sex-no whatever they tell us, and trust me it can happen) but now i wanna try and quit

I am so for this!!!! Each time I go out I Feel like I lose a year of my life cause of the amount of smoke I inhale....its gross...
Im sure this is not the case with you, but some people smoke for the of it...one after another...no reason, no motive...and sometimes they just hold a smoke lit in their hand...what the feck is that?
