And with all due respect to sexy persian, I do recall upon my last visit to San Diego (not LA, I know) that there were a number of sea lions basking along the shore, hence perhaps the confusion about there being seals in Toronto. Also, sea lions and harp seals both fall within the same order, the pinnipeds, they're just in different families.
