Mozart first and foremost.
a close second would have to be Led Zepplin with Plant and Page. I can't think of any other act that can produce such great songs so many years in a row on so many different cds. Perhaps Pink Floyd also due to the fact that their albums take you on a journey and tell a story. And then maybe the lyrics that Lennon and McCartney produced. Then Jimi on guitar is pure genius. =) I wish newer acts could create such quality albums as classic rock greats. I can't classify any EDM producers as genius though because of all the borrowed ideas and sounds from songs before them.

Beethoven! I just love classical!
But I still have to share this with you. One time I was clubbing in Amsterdam I came to an idea that Josh Wink must have been a f***ing genious!:tongue2 |

| Musical geniuses today I would have to say Oliver Lieb, Massive Attack for music production and Sasha for being the best DJ. All have loads of natural talent! |

i'm glad to see so many opinons (Specially from those who gave 1 anwser)
You See...
I asked this question because in my mind Richard D. James is #1, but yet i hadn't really exposed myself to that much beethoven,Bach, or Mozart. I've never even heard of Ulrich Schnauss, or Phillip Glass, or Joaques Rodrigo.
I posted this question to expand my horizons more and learn what else there is...lately I'm beem listening to Brian Eno, Frank Zappa, William Orbit and Kraftwerk. |

| Bach, I'm surprised it took 3 and a half pages before someone mentioned him... if it wasn't for Bach, music would be way different. Beethoven and Mozart also get mentions of course |

...Frank Zappa |
Joaquin Rodrigo was a Spanish composer, prob one of the best in Spain, he composed the famous concert for orchestra and classical guitar "Concierto de Aranjuez". If you want some stuff by him, AIM me. ;)
Frank Zappa was good, not a fan though. Check out Steve Vai, one of the best guitarrists today, he used to be the rhythm guitarrist for Frank back in the day, a genius :)
Oh, and for me, 2 other musicians I would consider geniuses: Mike Oldfield and Vangelis  |
