This should send a very strong message to the terrorists. I wouldn't be surprised if they started being a lot more secretive now, as publically pointing out their leaders just to have them killed weeks later isn't exactly a solid strategy.

I dont take either side in this conflict. I think the palestinians and israelis are equally to blame for this whole fiasco..
Having said that though. I think killing these guys instead of putting them on trial makes Israel as much of a terrorist as the palestinian suicide bombers.
Sadly, most people of both races only want peace. |

They already got a new leader.If only Isreal knew that they cant end any of this by killing the leader.I wouldnt wanna be in Isreal in the next few days,they pissed of alooooooooooot of people by killing the Hamas leader.I think Sharon should be the next to die. |

They pissed off even more people by killing the last leader several weeks ago. But those people thought Israel just got lucky. Now that the new leader is dead too, they know Israel will just consistently kill off one leader after another. And even if their leaders aren't safe, imagine how scared the subordinates are right about now. Israel gets the thumbs up for doing this. They took Palestinians' own strategy of consistent demoralization and used it against them with more success than the Palestinians themselves ever have. |

Technically, the UN is to blame for this since they're the ones who took away Palestinian land and created the state of Israel on it. That state got attached as soon as it was created, so the Israelis didn't initiate the conflict. In fact, there is a well-established pattern that clearly shows that the moment Israel takes a step towards the negotiating table, another suicide bombing occurs. The terrorist organizations have made it very clear through their actions and public statements that their goal isn't peace, but the complete and utter destruction of Israel. |

the sad truth of it all is, that terrorists are like worms, you can cut off the head but does it die? Israel ensures nothing but more carnage. Killing the leaders only makes the subordinates even MORE zelous and fearless.
I don't think a man who is willing to strap a bomb to his chest and willing to run into a nightclub is any more afraid of Israel targeting his car with a bomb.
Westerners do not understand this idealogy. These men are NOT afraid of death for there cause. |

Thing is that there is little Israel can do to piss them off any more than they already are. Like you said, they're already willing to die for their cause, and will continue to do so regardless of what Israel does. So the only option they have left is killing them off one by one. It's either that or sitting and waiting to be killed off themselves, which isn't really an option. I mean really, what would YOU do? Israel does nothing; Palestinians kill. Israel tries to negotiate; Palestinians kill. Israel kills; Palestinians kill. Israel's ONLY option is to kill in return. This is very rarely the case in these situations, but when your enemy's only goal is your death, you're all out of options. The terrorists already said they wouldn't stop their attacks even if Israel moved out of Palestinian territory. They want Israel destroyed, and they want Israeli territory to be theirs. Period. |
