[N]ûk|êû[Z] I notice you bought the A7V8X-X. I have the A7V8X and I learned something out a couple of weeks back the hard way and I'm hoping the same is not the case for you. I ordered another 512MB stick of PC3200, identical to the one I already had, so I'd have 1GB. When I installed it, Windows would run but would get errors no matter what I clicked on or opened. I then read the handbook and discovered that the A7V8X motherboard only accepts 1 single stick of Ram running at PC3200. Some sort of limitation with the VIA KT400 chipset. Luckily I was able to return it. I'm hoping that in your revision, the A7V8X-X, your board is allowed to take 2 sticks at PC3200. Let me know how it goes. |
oh right.. thanks for sharing.. although im getting slightly worried about the outcome now lol. should get it all delivered tomorrow.. if not i want my wounding express deliver charge refunded !! lol :p |

I guess it will do, but the wattage is way more than you need tbh. Also, a weird thing about the PSU is that it lacks a main ON/OFF switch. No biggie, but is kinda odd.
Bottom line is, don't be cheap with the PSU. It's literally what's keeping all the expensive parts of your PC functioning properly. If the PSU is , it will kill all your parts eventually (sometimes in an instant). A voltage spike can easily kill your CPU especially.
EDIT: you might want to consider spending about 6-7 quid more and picking up a 380W Antec PSU instead. Less wattage, but still more than you need. It's a tradeoff. You get less wattage, but significantly more stable voltage lines. I'd get the Antec, personally. |

hmm i managed to find one on ebuyer... i dunno what to do i guess ill take your word for it and go for this.. im just gonna have to think about how to go about buying the remaining parts i need.. my credit card about 90 quid short of being maxed... and the monitor that im yet to buy is 160 quid, that i was hoping to get next weekend, plus this PSU on top thats 200 quid , which i probably cant afford this week, i dunno we shall see, thanks for the recommendation :)
EDIT ah cakes, lol i looked for a 330 instead of the 380 ... which is about another 20 quid on top LOL |

The voltage rails aren't as solid as the "TruePower" series (this one is "SmartPower", but it's still a solid PSU. Quit a bit cheaper than the other ones I told you about... |
ah nice has a 5 starrating on ebuyer and is 20 quid cheaper than the 380, thanks a lot man, i guess ill never know how much you saved me, but thanks anyways.. one other thing.. im prolly not gonnabe able to afford this PSU for 2 weeks.. do you reckon i should wait until i get the PSU, or should i be ok for a while? |
