aya hoping some of you can provide some input on this one. i am looking buying a new motorcycle for the summer but i am having some severe trouble deciding what to get. i have narrowed it down mainly to 2 bikes...
either a crotch rocket (Suzuki GSX-R)
...or...
A nice middleweight cruiser (Yamaha V-Star Custom 650)
...now from what i've heard the crotch rockets become very uncomfortable for anything but short trips, and that would be a definite no-go for me :( i've also heard that if you have a passenger on the crotch rocket the seats are very unforgiving to them. i can't have my lady complaining about the ride every 5 mins, so that would be a no-go also. i have rode a couple cruisers before, but i have never been on a crotch rocket. do any of you TA's happen to own a GSX (damn they look nice don't they ;) ) or a similar sports bike (Kawasaki Ninja etc...) I am having trouble deciding on this one but if the comfort of the sport bike is pretty crappy then I couldn't go for it because I plan on riding for trips that would be more than an hour long. If any you TA's got bikes and or pictures, please, post away!!! |

| I'd go with the crotch rocket any day. Way more fun. If you find them uncomfortable, you can get replacement seats that are much better. |

jixxer. what CC you lookin at? Check out the new Kawasakis man,,, ing amazing.
I have an 800 cc Honda sport bike. I LOVE IT. I lay down on the tank all the time because its so comfortable. I rode 2500 miles in 5 days a month ago and no complaints.
Cornering and acceleration are unmatched. Braking handling...they are really safer bikes in the end.
plus you get to wear cooler gear. Cruisers are for comfort and an image.
I commute to work and school daily with lots of weekend trips to a friends house that is 100 miles away. Im not sick of it yet. Gets more fun every day.
so yeah. Sport bike! |

| If it were my decision, I'd choose the cruiser. Not that one in particular (I'm partial to Honda Shadows). |

a new VFR interceptor is gonna run you around 9,000 USD
all the 04 sport bikes in the 800cc+ category are gonna be 9 grand + to walk out the door with. |

Hmm so I wasn't too far off then.
Oh, and what does insurance look like for one (for someone with a clean record, no tickets or anything) |

youd want full coverage. people with 500 USD bikes can get away with 50 bucks a year.
I pay 600 a year, and im gonna up my collision and get some theft so probably gonna be like 800 a year. |
