First of all, those of you who endlessly claim that all "ravers" do drugs, and just won't admit it, shut the up. It's not true, and you better believe it. Maybe that's the case where you're from, but that doesn't mean that it's happening everywhere.

And about the "boring antidrug people", that's the most outrageous thing I've ever heard, I know tons of people that are into the EDM scene that, like me, don't do drugs at all, and that's never stopped any of us from dancing like hell all night long. Sometimes we're having a couple of beers or more, but that's by no means a requirement for having fun on the dancefloor. Actually I've never seen a more energetic dancer than a friend of mine who never ever does drugs. The problem is that people who doesn't know him more often than not believes that he IS doing drugs, actually he got thrown out of a club once because of it. And I have to ask, what's so goddamn wrong about going to a club and quietly listening to the music having a couple of beers every once in a while? It's not like it stops you from dancing or anything?

Also, I've never had any problems dancing for 2,3,4 even 8 hours during a clubnight, just be sure to drink a lot of water and you'll be alright. I don't understand the people who do drugs simply to be able to jump around all night till they drop, go to the gym every once in a while and improve your stamina and it won't be a problem.

I wouldn't call myself a drug hater though, even though it's bull when people say that their drug use is only "hurting" themselves. I believe that if you can stay in control and take responsibility of your actions then by all means do the drugs you like. I've never needed any, but I can understand that some do and why some choose to check it out. Actually the reason why I've never even tried any drugs, apart from the fact that it's not exactly legal, is because I'm afraid that the experience will be so amazing that I'll quickly get addicted, and I can tell you, when you've seen friends go down the drain because of drugs, why be so foolish as to take that path yourself?

:)

Just wanted to let you know that every massive event I went to for last 8 years…PEOPLE DID DRUGS, lots of drugs!
What I agree with you on is the fact that drugs will ruin your life if you have an addicting personality. They will slowly destroy you, for sure. If you feel that you get hooked on things easily, stay away from drugs, it is not for you.
If you have a strong personality and character then maybe you have a chance to walk away from drugs and still maintain a normal life style, but I tell you, my friend, you will NEVER be the same person after you try it, EVER. You will never look at drugs like you looked at them before.

Your best bet-STAY AWAY FROM THIS .

Drugs and raves are like taking a and reading the newspaper.

Do I do drugs? Yes. Why do I do drugs? Because quite frankly its to put up with alot of the pretenious-hardcore non drug users who come to stare at their favorite DJ instead of dancing with the people around them, and having a good time. These are the same people who dont do drugs, and bore the outta you with their uneventful life, and whine when you smoke around them. Grow some in balls, and if your a girl, go suck some choda, theres nothing worse than meeting these people anywhere. Honestly, if you wanna listen to music, grab a CD player and get that set and listen to it whenever you want, if your at the club, enjoy the music, do some drugs and dance your brains out, and be fun with everyone...thats a party. *when I say drugs, I mean alcohol, weed, chemicals -legal and illegal, anything that gives you a better state of mind*

Well, Honey, I don't read the newspaper when I take a , and if doing drugs is as mundane for you as taking a , then that doesn't sound very exciting. I admit that there may be some pretentious clean freaks, but I think a lot of the drug users are pretty damned pretentious too. You say that they "stare at their favorite DJ..." Well, hell, what did I just pay $20 bucks for? To stare at the DJs face or the face of some goober in the audience? Btw, I dance way more than my unsober friends do. You also say "these are the same people who don't do drugs, and bore the outta you with their uneventful life...." Dude, I don't know who you hang out with, but the drug-users I've known have had the most uneventful lives you could imagine... all they do is party, get high, eat, sleep, and take a (sound familiar?). "If you wanna listen to the music, grab a CD player..." wtf? So you telling me you don't go to parties to listen to the music? You're out of it, man. If you want to do drugs, go ahead, but remember that people who don't have hangups (i.e. not self-conscious and judgemental) don't need drugs to relax and have a kickass time.

If you think drugs are bad and present a negative outlook towards any music scene, then do me a favor, and go into your CD or Record collection and throw them into the fireplace and burn'em 'cause if it wasnt for drugs, many of todays more interesting and unique music would of never have been made. Alot of the worlds producers, musicians, and songwriters have all taken narcotics, hell, even in poetry, some of the best poets in the world were at their peak when they were doing some sort of narcotics, and doing taboo things they werent suppose to.

I dont blame drugs, I blame the weak character of the person doing them irresponsibly.
Noree
Man this guy didn’t ask what you all think about drugs, he simply wants to know what you guys take when you go out. Simple as that. You guys always have to complicate . Drugs are bad we know this. When I go clubbing or raving I like to drink or smoke some weed, unless of course it’s one of my favorite DJ’s headlining and I have been working my ass off all week and need some sort of reward….so I will take some good E and enjoy the night. Why do I take E you ask? Many reasons, which I don’t feel like getting into right now. And to all the drinkers out there who are against drugs. First of all….you are taking a drug. Second, it’s you people who piss me off the most. I have seen more drunk people causing more problems then people on harder . And it’s these same people who drink and stand there looking at the DJ not dancing one bit. in take a pill…..let your mind free and dance to the beautiful choons the DJ is playing. PEACE

I frequent the rave scene. Wish I could more though.

Never done a drug in my life.

I am ing sick of people crediting trance to drugs. That is such bull. "There would be no trance without drugs". I have heard it over and over. Seriously, shut up. You underestimate these DJs way too much. How about..."There would be no trance without the damn DJ."

Too right... surely if you can't enjoy the music thinking straight then you shouldn't be listening to it?

My point is if you can't enjoy music thinking straight, then you simply can't enjoy it and better off listening to something else. However, please please please, do not mar this beatiful genre by this association. You know how mainstream media and majority of people are. For them, it means "trance = drugs", and therefore scene begins to take a hit and in some towns, like mine, it dies.

Please, do not generalize everyone. When I come to the event, I dance my feet off and talk to people in friendly, non-boring, cheerful manner. I am happy to death everytime and guess what. I don't use any drugs. At all. It is a problem with you my friend, since you can't have a good time without your dose. Apparently life treats you harshly.

Edit: Because of people like you, the trance scene in my town died indefinitely.

How old are you Mr. Candy Raver?

Edit: Please refer to my edit in the upper post. Same applies to you.

I've just glossed over all this so please excuse me if my observations seem somewhat superficial. I think some one referred to "narcotics" being used at raves, in my experience E is anything but. Also someone mentioned that acid and GR8ful dead shows went hand in hand. Well they did as they did at most shows of that era be it Zeppelin, Floyd etc. I'm almost 50 and i can personally testify to that fact, not through my own personal experiences with these substances of course ;)
