Eh, let's get this whole thing in perspective.
Firstly no-one can deny (based on the information supplied) that what this guy did was brave and selfless. He put himself in unintelligible danger to ensure the safe progress of his regiment and I think that the US military is right to reward him for it. It's a war-time situation and I don't think it's fair for anyone to call him a "murderer" for what he did.
On the other hand, there's something disturbing about people who find this sort of thing "cool" and who treat war like a movie, or - even worse - like a sport. Like I said, the actions that this guy committed are laudable, but it doesn't change the fact that 20 people (most likely conscripts, fighting without conviction just to make a living) died. The marine would be the first to tell you that there is nothing glorious about death, especially when you are the one causing it. For chicken-hawk conservatives (or do we consider ourselves libertarians these days?) to sit on the side-lines and describe the brutal reality of warfare as "badass" while likening it to "Rambo" constitutes a moral perversion of the most peculiar sort. It's this convoluted yet strangely sanitised "us-vs-them" mentality, I suspect - widely held and heavily ingrained - that explains why the drums of war were beaten so loudly by the types of people I'm talking about in the lead-up to the conflict. There is no conceivable occasion on which it is right to celebrate the death of another human being, and in the context of such a senseless war as this one this it rings doubly true.
If that makes me "kinda homosexual" mr Tito, then so be it. :stongue: |

There's still hope for you. Take a week and spend it on watching Rambo 1-4, Rocky 1-5, Terminator 1-3, Commando, Legionaire, Beowulf, Conan 1-2, Red Sonya, Khul the Conquerer, Scorpion King and all the other great movies from that fascinating genre. |

mann its ssoooo simple...
AMERICA is occupyin iraqqqq, ... somethin tat belongs to the iraqiss... is their fu**in country ... soooo whoever the US army kills is registered as murder ... the 20 iraqi "SOLDEIRs" who got killed didnt ask for it ,, all they did was to try to defend their country against the real terrorists .. the US ... thats fine ... if the iraqis would ve killed the americans ... tats not murder, but if the americans kill iraqis tats murder .... end of story ... tats what happenes when u giva a gun to a baby , brainless yet dangerous ... bush tat is
PS. some of u mite say :OCCUPYING ???? yehhh ,, ure fu**in country's somwhere thats not supposed to be. now be it out of "GOOD WILL" to help the iraqi ppl (BULL, we just saw a glimps of it in their prisons forcing 6 iraqi prisoners into sexual positions n to watch em f**k eachother for some of the troops to laugh... now if thats part of help... no thanx ... u sik bastards... go bak to ure f***in country n f**k ure obese wives, if thats what u missed ) |

That's pretty much the point I was trying to get across. I don't consider him a murder as Cyrus does, but I don't think that what happened was in any way 'cool' either. |
