I wanted to possibly make my set more creative by putting 1 or 2 of my original tracks or remixes on there, that have never been released. I was wondering if thats ok or does there have to be only released tracks?

Hmmmmmm Interesting... might consider getting into this... even if you don't win, you may get noticed by someone listening to your set... :D Then again.. I might also be dreaming... :haha:

This does looking very interesting. Especially since I am in the middle of putting together a demo dj mix. I am curious of one thing though, do the tracks in the mix have to be brand new or can they be older tunes? Considering I don't have many of the newest tunes on vinyl, I would like to know.

Well, I'm guessing they don't have to be BRAND new, as long as you make the set enjoyable. I'm, for instance, not going to be here in August, but I'm going to buy some 2004 tunes and mix them with some I already own, and hope that the demo is good enough;)

is there a prefernce between a 'demo-cd vibe' to a 'live-set vibe'?

I believe live performance (assuming it's peak time) would be way more dynamic and less 'intelligent'. Way too many of those 'beautiful-home-made vibe' sets out there.. If your set is intelligent (demo-cd vibe, as you call it) and brilliant, I believe they'll broadcast it, but in order to play out live you need to show above all you can rock the crowd.

Looks like I still might have time. This is dope!
