this would make more sense IMO, but it's a little harder to rate (15, 25, 35... not that easy to give marks)

- Originality/Creativity 25

- Sounds and Effects 35
> Percussion 15
> Other (Synths, bleeps, etc.) 20

- Arrangement 40
> Basic Layout/Structure 15
> Final EQ/Mastering 25

Total: 100

Well divided (the points) IMO!

I'm at the finishing phase of my mix. I'm so curious about others' work, but I need to wait a few weeks...

Anyways, good luck these final 2 weeks to every competitor :D

I didn't even notice the topic thread, how blind could a person be!!???

Well within 2 weeks i'm off to Salou, Spain so i haven't got any decent time left to make a worthy remix i guess....

Sob, sob...

Maybe i will make a remix, so count me in. Ah what the hell, count me in!!!

EDIT: the link to the vocal mp3 appears to be broken? Can i still get it somewherez??

Her first note starts in G, The key I believe it is in C Minor. Download the 5 AM REMIX MIDI file, they have the whole melody, so you can take look.

Am I working with different vocals? IMO they're at 130 BPM. I made m faster to 136.

Is everybody basing their remix on the 5 AM mix or is that MIDI just for the key...?

Well AbsoluteFahrenheit, surely curious about your mix, since I think there aren't that many hardware-users around here :D

I did use some of the MIDI files from the 5 AM mix, so actually, it might be more like I did a remix of the 5 AM remix. LOL. But really I used the main melody for some of my sequencing from the 5 AM mix MIDI file. I also used some of the thematic, epic lines as well. But I am pleased with the arrangement of my remix too.

I like what I have done with the remix, it might get a little thick in some parts of the mix, but I am pleased with how it sounds. Although I wish I could go back and do some tweaking with the production. I just let my version be the way it is, instead of starting from scratch again.

As for the hardware side of things, I don't have a lot of gear, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my access virus b. Nearly all my tracks have that synth somewhere in them. As for outboard processors, I only have a few: Reverb and Delay Processor, Aural Exciter, and a compressor when I do vocals.

But I do love VSTi's for sure. I have a lot of Native Instrument Stuff, like FM7, Battery, B4, Pro-52, Pro-53, Absynth 1.0 and 2.0, Spektral Delay, Vokator, Kontact Sampler, Reaktor. Plus these are all registered versions too. Meaning, I paid for all of them. I have used warez software before, but I believe in supporting the developers if I really want to use something.

w00t. If you want to hear my version of the remix, let me know. I don't think it would be wrong to share my version now, unless someone thinks that is not a good idea. Stan, your thoughts on sharing your remix before the contest is over? Good :stongue: , Bad :whip: ?

w00t. :disbelief

I'm sure I'll download all versions once they're available. I don't think it's wise to share your version with the jury, cause they need to give independent marks and they will not see names coming with the tracks they listen to..

I don't think I'd want full versions to hear before mine is submitted. You get other ideas for your version and I don't think that makes your remix pure.. Also, I'll get unsure about my own mix hearing other ones... :D

BTW, AbsoluteF, check yur PM.

i did not used the midi file, but i am not as good as most of the guys here at the forum, but still am pretty happy with my result.

it's more an afterclub remix, so relaxed but still @ 140bpm :)

Hey Stan! Is there any chance of me being able to partake in the judging of this event?:D Mainly because I think it would be better to have more judges as apposed to less judges, as you would end up with a more accurate points distribution when compared to only having 5-10 judges(that is if noone drops out of judging, or forgets full stop, which face it, WILL happen :o )

btw, ing brilliant remix of damaged. The final standings of the last comp couldn't have been fairer.
