@ Tiesto on Thursday night he was right at the front just whistling away. Everyone around was annoyed, many of us were TA's. I walked over to him and explained that his whistling was annoying and was distracting me from the music, so he blows the whistle right in my ear ! So then I told him about this thread and he just looked and me and didn't say anything. LOL
I mean sure he may be nice, fair enough, but just leave the whistle at home. The packed GUV is just not a whistle emviroment.
So if he is your bud cuzo, he must whistle away when he is right beside you !! You'll have to break him of this old "habit", maybe put a silencer on that thing, so he can pretend he is whistling.

I went to cream @ the molson center in 2001, I am not sure how many people were there, at least 5000. There were whistlers and I didn't mind it at all. The guv is nothing like that though, whistlers + the guv atmosphere = yuck.
Are you a whistler fan Jay? |

to be honest its never really bothered me. In fact back in the warehouse days it added to the atmosphere.
If it ever did bother me i guess id just move away from the whistler and be done with it... |

I in hate whistles, especially if they are off beat. If this guy is at Guv for Coxy and Richie and I hear his crappy attempt to whistle the whole night Im gonna give him my patented "toe-fisted double backhand M. Bison power slap to the face.
Bring it on Whistle Fukka |

as far as I'm concerned, people who whistle are being selfish and showing no respect for the people around them - we didn't come to hear some candy raver whistle all night.
As someone once said to me: "if the producer of this track really intended for a whistle to accompany it, i think he would have been able to add it himself" |

Listen guys relax with the aggro hostility. I understand y'all hate this but........he happens to be a buddy of mine I met at guv a few years ago (if your a guv regular you'll know me and I personally make friends with everybody)with a bad old habit.(I know this gonna start my first flame war) Actually yes I understand its giving your hard earned money for big events a damper. Believe me when I say this hes a cool guy and great guy to party with and do believe it is my responsibilty to tell him the angst against him...I heard ppl talk bad about him and its my oppportunity to change this situation. Its gonna be weird, I'm a nice guy I don't want him to feel like but I'll make him understand and if I don't at least I tried.
Oh cereal 3825, I don't know what thats going to solve by giving his personal info but I'm guessing hez gonna have a beef with you now because I'm linking this thread to his email. Hope you don't have beef with me but I'm too lazy to explain all this stuff a link is easier. Peace and no war guys. |
Yer rite Cuzo.............prolly should not have posted that. Not cool of me, specially if he looses his job over a whistle at a club, which has nothing to do with his work.
Didnt think ppl would actually consider going his work, but i guess i under estimated how pissed ppl were about the whistles. Look if ppl wanna do something i suggest talk to him personally, or the club, but dont goto his work.
It pisses me off aswell, but i just move away from him, actually i move around alot of clubs, so i guess i never really notice as much.
If the infamous whistle guy reads this, Sorry dude, shouldn't post yer personal info on here.

| I guess this is a good illustration of how far the "me first" society has come in 10 years. It used to be that if something like that bothered you, you simply moved to another spot. |
|

- when you can hear the whistles across the club, 'moving to another spot' isnt really an option
- when it detracts from your enjoyment of the music and dj that you've come to see, its an issue
- "me first"? thats exactly the selfishness that i think whistlers display |

i get more annoyed at the bongo players that show up from time to time and bang off key but whatever...
C'est la vie... you cant always get what you want (people need to learn to grasp this concept) |

| It is not unreasonable to expect to be able to listen and dance to the music the way it was intended to be heard, without being aggravated by a handful of selfish whistlers. This is something that is within a clubs control, but too many of them choose to ignore it. |

There are many worse things a person could do than blowing a whistle.
I personally dont care if people blow whistles or not but i respect that guy for defending himself and doing it anyways. Guvernment for example is a big place. Plenty of room to move if you dont like it. |
