Looking at the pennywise thread and poping in a old hardcore cd last night got me sort of nostalgic.. before i got into edm i used to be all about the core and the mosh.. believe it or not. it was mainly really underground stuff.. bands who went on tours in ty old broken vans and crashed at peoples places, just did it for the love and broke even at every show, or prolly lost money. I also used to listen to a lot of death metal back then too.. anyone on here used to, or still listen to any of this kinda stuff?
i know lipstick's a cool cat who used to and still does listen to punk, mucupous used to be all about death metal, and eziekel used to be a skaterboy. |

i only listened to rap before..and really not that much of it. then i got into trance after watching swordfish (kick as movie!) and listening to the album.
i hate metal and death and other like that. it sounds evil and i cant dance to it anyway. i CAN dance to trance/techno/house:) |

yea its not good to dance to really, but its very energetic.. and yea.. its very dark, which is a reason i was really attracted to it, a lot of edm is also very dark and "evil".
i used to, and still do listen to rap, bone thugs, fugees, and tupac are my fav.
im very open to different types of music whether its accustic or noize. |

I grew up in a mosh pit.
So did Cuzo- he even used to be a drummer in a band. I just used to date all the band members. ;) |

| To me, it sounds like awful noise, but that is just my personal taste. There is a lot a yelling also, I don't like the yelling. |

punk all the m'f'ing way!
no but seriously. I still listen to
clash, slayer, sabbath, tool, cramps
Sham 69, Dropkick Murphys, a good majority of the fat wreck bands, I went to my first
hardcore/punk show that was big at the medley in Montreal ( I cant remember the bands name). That was crazy. I got beat up in the pit (not literally), just got an elbow in my solar plexus.
You know its a crazy show when stacked dudes get into the center, take off their shirts and immediately size up those around them (the only purpose for them being there is to slam). |

Sorry I have disagree with you here, you can dance to punk just like jungle. Same beat and speed for the "break". I've done it many times.
Green Day was the , b4 they went TOP 40. I wish they never sold out ... |

HAH,
Growing up in Cali... no way i could not be influenced by this stuff. Love the punk scene, but TO is really lacking in that department :( Still skate and love it! Everytime i come back to cali, my love for punk and skating is renewed x100 :D :D

I spent a week on the road with some friends from BC (Lythic Blue) when they were on tour and in the GTA. Great times, and saw some awesome bands too.
Check 'em out HERE (They're just finishing their tour now). |
