originally though, I said what are "YOUR" signature sounds... meaning the TA contributors...

but...this is cool too!:p

so I'll say - that unmistakeable sound of DJ Sakin & Freinds...oh yes...you know it well! the sound of CHEESE.:whip:

ATB uses that guitar thing from 9pm everywhere.

Um for me? I don't have any "signature percussions", but there are two synths that I use all the time, and a lot of melodies are easily identifiable as mine.

For me I don't know, I make totally different styles. If I finishd a tarnce track, I'll make a funk one afterwards ! :D

And for the pro producers, I can't believe anyone mentioned Push/M.I.K.E. yet ! Every song I have from him on CD/vinyl is made with the same synth setup/patch/pattern.

some years ago, when i started with screamtracker and stuff, i think it was quite easy to recorgnize my tracks.
i did some trance tracks and also a few hardcore tunes. i got some percussion pattern that i realy loved, and since there was no possibility to use VSTi (i didn't even know about it) with the huge amount of presets i had to use the few good synth samples over and over again.
now, 10 years later, i'm into many different styles. and i like to mix them. i think it's hard to define 'my sound'

and tbh i don't like the idea of a 'signature sound' in my tracks. being recorgnized just by a lead synth or a bassline...i think this is a good sign to try someting new :)
Digital Aura
I figured someone would say that.

I dunno... I like listening to the opening of a song (especially one I've never heard before)and being able to nail the artist within 10 seconds! I don't think it lessens the artist in any way. It defines them without restricting them. Of course, you're right in the sense that if you ONLY use one synth or bassline or drum kick then its not so good. Thats not a signature sound...thats a rut!

Omg, how could I forget! *slaps forehead*

As for me (Happy Digital Aura? :p) I've been too damn slow producing. I might have some kind of signature, but I don't kow myself. And I only have one old song online... sigh gotta make new music..or else I'll start doubting that I ever will.. :whip:

My own signature sound is a certain clap that I've used in almost every song I wrote in the last two years or so. Not always as the main clap, and at various pitches, but I almost always hide it somewhere. I'm sure some people will recognize the filename kerlap02.wav :)

Also L-vee's stuff is pretty easy to hear. The kick and the stutter melodies in the Airwave productions are some things that you notice..

Push
Fluticht

They almost always use a simialr sounding lead and kick on all of there tunes.

As for myself, it's what ever sound I think is sounds good at the momment. Everything I make has it on it durring thaat time period.

Another easy way to recognize ATB is by his drums. There's something to them...they have that ATBness to them.
