Haha, definitely know what you mean. I was listening to one of ATB's remixes of William Orbit's Barber's Adagio for Strings, and I thought to myself "This sounds like ATB"-- then I looked at the song title, and there it was. ;-)

Pulser and M.I.K.E. are definitely good ones as well. The lead synths of My Religion and Pulser's remix of Firewall - Sincere are extremely alike... and his songs have a certain feel to it. M.I.K.E.'s kick has that.. taste to it. He also uses similar synths and styles of melody.

my friend has a real signature sound, he produces hardhouse, and he uses alot of dirty z3ta+s and an oscene amount of triplets in his buiuldups...

my signature sound is crap... i cant produce, im a n00b and havent finished a track in abt 2 months.. argh

lots of shuffle, and LOTS of mid on the hats.. and a cowbelly sound that goes:

KICK
X---X---X---X---
cowbell
--xx--x-x-xx-x-x-

or something :P

and offcourse his pitchbendy squary leads like in 9pm, and those other songs... altho i havent heard any of his new stuff, if there are any...

Would have to say of current producers producing, these are the most obvious and memorable for me:

Super 8 (Epic?)
G & M Project / Robert Gitelman (Nice n smooth...)
Hiver & Hammer (Dark + Bubbling)
Warrior (Just dark...)

Super8's sound is so generic (jp8000 til you die) that he sounds like everyone else.

Where do i start on MIKE

MIKE has the rare talent of being able to make his songs very similar and easily distinguishable without getting boring and repetitive. This is a very hard thing to master.

Firstly his leads are amazing and similar sounding in most of his songs but with their own unique molody.

Secondly the use of the woosh see "Push - universal nation" or another gated reverb clap in every one of his songs.

Thirdly where did he get that snare, the best snare in the business. Doesn't even have to roll it. One hit sounds good. see later "Plastic Boy" or push songs. If i had that snare id use it in all my songs too.

Fourthly listen to his complicated hihat lines.

Heavy chorus for one. For two, there's a trick a lot of producers use where if you play a sine type wav that's slightly off from the note you're playing, it causes a wobble effect. IE. If your bassline note is a C, trying playing a B or a C# on top of it at lower volume. There's a technical term for this, but I can't remember it =P

the overdrive toms and the soft melody lines of the viframa christalle remix, alesis and other of his stuff.. you know it is him after the first few seconds. Great producer imo

i dont know imo i think that alot of mike productions lack their true potetional due to the fact that he uses the same style synth sounds in alot of his tracks its not a bad sound just doesnt have much progression to the sound itself they arent badly produced but just alike and imo that makes it kinda medicore reminds me almost of the way all cheeze trance sounds alike due to presets i find alot of artist are doing this now such as envio, push, and even markus schulz with his allways used basslines of his.. not they arent allways bad, just sometimes it gets old however good artist who retain their sounds but seem to make them differnt in many ways would have to be probly thrillseekers and kai tracid as they allways sound the same but not the same in many ways they keep the same style of sound but mold it where as many producers dont do that they keep the same sound and just change cutoff or env and use it. another artist that is notirous for this would have to be airbase. its like the whole stigma producers that produce in reason arent really producers they are reason producers as you can tell when a track was made in reason due to the genral sound that everyone uses when using reason. not to hate on reason producers as there are very good reason producers out there but to use the same genral sound kinda makes all tracks sound the same and varitey is key imo but ehh maybe thats why all my tracks suck.. but yeah id have to say thrillseekers and kai tracid are very noticable producers by the sound of their synths and basslines.
