Signature sounds!

Its amazing that even just listening to a few measures, a discerning ear can recognize who the artist is just by certain characteristics that have made the artist popular. :gsmile:
Although I myself haven't acquired a signature sound, perhaps many of you have adopted a "default" synth or maybe you've adopted certain kicks or FX that you may identify as being "YOUR OWN".
What elements do you find you repeatedly use in most of your tunes?

| I don't recognise that I am doing it while I make a track but people can often tell that a song is mine. I think it is something to do with the percussion as I like to make stuff techy. |

| Haak |
don't think i have a signature sound, only thing i can think of is i like to make my tunes get agressive in the last 1/4 hehe
more fun to make different tunes anyway |

Matt Dary has the most signature sound that I can remember

I guess one fould find my "signature" sound from the percs and the fx... I've also noticed that I tend to build my tracks in a similar manner but I'm not really sure if anyone else has noticed it... ;)
Edit:
Oh yeah, there's also that sweeping 303 arp that I used a lot at one point... |

I dind't think i have a signature sound.. untill i started on a remix of a friends track.. he had a listen and said that he can definatly hear the dj deux sound in the remix.. he couldn't put his finger on exactly what it was tho.. but still..
felt good to have someone say, '.. the dj deux sound' :D |

Maybe so, but I can still tell a Haak tune a mile off thanks to the percussion. I'm pretty sure this is one of yours... :p
sampley
It's amazing how many clues are left behind through structure and little signature sounds. As an example, listen to this little sample and I'm sure someone can tell me who likes to use this kind of kick & cymbal build-up. :p
Who is this?
Bonus points for a song ID. :D
(Jeez, feels like an amateur music ID contest. :stongue: ) |
