| it's interesting hearing how some people claim (mostly americans unsurprisingly) he ended the cold war while others claim its gorbachev...can somebody show some proof on who actually ended it? |

Actually its not my great loss because I'm not from the states. But if people want to pass on their regards here then they should be allowed to do so without someone telling them that its all for nothing because the guy was a dick. Post wherever the you want, cos that I couldn't give a about but show some ing respect for other people that don't wanna see that kind of crap. |

Call me a cynic, but I suspect that neither of them actually ended it. IMHO it was the advisers and the negotiators in the background who did the dirty work, Reagan and Gorbachev just happened to be the ones who got to kiss and make up for the TV cameras. As for his death, part of me wants to say 'good riddance', because I despised just about every political decision he made, but another half of me recognises that you wouldn't wish Alzheimer's on your worst enemy, far-right ideologues included, hehe. Hey, maybe I just have a soft spot for the guy. ;)
RIP Mr. Reagan - sorry to see you go. |
