| Can processor speed be increased even after the computer is bough and has been used, etc? Right now i'm operating at a measly 2.34 GHz, i wanna get it up closer to 3. Any suggestions? |

simple answer : yes.
complex answer : no. :p
it all depends on the kinda cpu you have (Pentium/Athlon), what temp its running at, voltage, the capabilities of your mobo's BIOS... look up CPU-Z, download it, n post what you get.
ps, i would reccommend researching "overclocking" because thats what you're getting into here.
when i bought my AMD 1600+, it was running at about 1.2ghz, now i have the sucka up to 2.1ghz :) |

| easy. just go into your BIOS at start up and go to proc speed and up the clockspeed multiplier. It will either give you a number to x it by or it will just auto covnert and say do you want a 2.8, 3.1, 3.4 etc. The high clock speeds will over heat it or over use the frontside bus. If you change the clock speed Xer and it goes black on reboot pop the watch battery thing (CMOS) and unplug the power cord from the back of the computer. This will reset the multiplier (and all other BIOS) to default. Then youre golden. Have fun! |

| If you want to get into overclocking buy an Athlon Barton Mobile processor. They overclock like deamons and come multiplyer unlocked. I have a 2600 M (1800 Mhz standard) running at 2550 Mhz on air cooling which puts it on par with the new Athlon 64 chips and it only cost £60. :D |

| mines a 2.8 amd athlon, currently running at a little over 2 :( pisses me off a little cos im sure it shoul;d be running at faster than that. but if i go into bios and put it to say 2.5 it wont boot windows just brings me back to bios. any thing i can do? |

How do you know at what speed your PC is running.
I have a 1.7, but don't know if it runs that fast...
Oh and about overclocking, I think it lowers the life expectancy of the chip too. |

Yup, increasing the vcore voltage wil decrease life expectancy of the chip, from like 20 years to 10 years, but as I buy a new one every 2 years who cares. :p |

| Is it easy to over clock my athlon 750 to 3ghz? :disbelief |

You gotta remember one thing though: Athlon XPs and Intel P4s are not the same when it comes to clock speed. A 2.2Ghz Athlon XP will perform about the same as a 3.2Ghz P4, because AMD processors do more work per clock cycle.
I could write more but that's the basics right there |
