its all about , traditions and the way of life ... i know for a fact that , middle eastern ppl have the greatest hospitality among every other nation... its the way theyve been brought out ...
think about it . u go to some place where ppl have low standards of living (e.g: cuba, iran, ...), always have a smile on their face ... treat u well (in most cases ) these ppls hospitality is just great ,, ,,,
buttt , if u go to some rich neighborhood, they treat you like tttttt.

funny how the countries with so little are usually the warmest and friendliest...

its a sad irony actually.

Agreed about the small towns. Travelling around european towns we were literally thrown into homes, fed huge amounts of food, and while the chicks talked in the living room us guys usually went down to the basement and got drunk off the wine.

Good times.

Outside of immigrants and family in Canada I have never seen this level of hospitality.

Of course I don't think many people here have a huge wine and beer cellar in their basement.

That's unrealistic. How about we switch 100,000 to 500,000 and 75,000 to 50,000? There, NOW choose :) And keep in mind that while initially, the first person will have much less time than the second, that reality will one day be reversed.

that's not even realistic. choose between living right at the poverty line, like what is it 16,000? and in the confortable level at like 75,000. there is no way any person would pick the poverty line.

there is not much difference between 100,000 and 75,000.

but this thread is pissing me off. why are you referring to middle eastern people as "them"? are these people a different species. why would you ever think that they wouldn't open the door for you? or give you a coffee for free if you forgot your change? you were expecting a huge deal to be made just because they were from the middle east?

and to those that are from the middle east, why are you not pissed at being called "them"?

BEcuase its expected. Western media has stigmatized much of the population into thinking middle eastern people are less 'civilized', even though we were the first to create civilizations.

I think he Diabolic wasnt intending to segregate us as "them" becuase he is conditioned to thinking its normal. Maybe hell understand now.

Thanks for pointing that out though stereoprincess

We are different, you should celeberate the differences in culture rather than just trying to sweep it under a rug and calling us all one.

What a boring world it would be if we were all the same.

I take offense at this comment. The suggestion that "we" as a culture have been conditioned to look upon middle eastern cultures and peoples in this manner is rather offensive.
While this may be true in some small segments of the population, I believe that the majority of people are far more tolerant and understanding than you may believe.
Your belief that "we" as a culture think such negative attitudes are the norm and are now acceptable adds fuel to the fire and perpepuates a rift.
