you really really think pvd uses FS with mp3s?
hahahah that's too much.
as far as beatport etc etc. yep they're great to download. what about Itunes? should people download off there too and play the stuff in sets?
if a 320kb/sec mp3 and a wav file are so similar in sound why are the file sizes so drastically different? Oh yah thats because a crap load of freqneices get chopped off. The sample rate is high enough that you get away with that awful sound in a 128 or 160kb/sec mp3. However if you were to play the same song from vinyl and a mp3 on big system you're gonna hear it big time.
How bout you post your question on the dj forum. You'll find people who play big systems on there who will tell you exactly the same thing I am now. |

well obviously they aren't going to pay some joeschmo to push their product, he had to get big first.
but all that aside, who knows, if he now tried different equipment, he could do even better stuff. and again, what zabiela does is not mainly with the CDJs but that friggin EFX board. |
Oh I know, he uses that thing as a work horse for all of his sets. From what I can tell and have read from his liner notes, the only CDJ specific things he's using are the loop adjust features. The rest of it could be done on vinyl, including the scratching.
the only thing I was trying to say about the recent sponsership is that Zabiela was gong-ho on pioneer from the beginning. I think he pushes pioneer because he really loves the product. But thats just my take on it. |

IF you would like, I can post the link to my Max Graham interview where he says he just sits on his comp and swaps 320k mp3s with sasha and so on, and doesn;t like to play vinyl anymore because CD's are just easier and more flexable. (From what i recall, not a direct quote)

ok, point taken. i guess it is like that with any product that you really like.
maybe one day we will have turntable editions like they have basketball shoe editions for the different players. |

iTunes is promoted as personal download service for downloading any kind of music, basically your online music store instead of places like Virgin. Beatport is geared towards the DJ really, and most of the people who RUN beatport and use Beatport are DJ's. I'm sure BadBoyBill would know a thing or two about the music business and sound, but again, you seem to be the expert, you should give him some lessons, since he's part of the Beatport management.

What a wonderful mentality, bigger is better isn't it. I suppose there never comes a point when you can't hear the difference. Just because you know there is a technical difference, doesn't mean you can see or hear it.

So basically I can conclude, you're saying Max Graham, Sander Kleinenberg and many others are playing terrible sounding tracks on purpose? |

| There's a video going around comparing just the scratching function on the cdj, the denon, and the tech. if you plan on doing any scratching at all i'd aviod the tech cd decks like the plauge. that said if you're doing long digweed-esque mixes then it sure it sexy. |
