the american argument?

see the problem you have is that you are trying to put words in the mouths of all americans.

we have a democracy and people tend to disagree.

Last i saw Bush and kerry were in a dead heat....in the polls.

So your comments and arguments are to be taken with a grain of salt

:p
just trollin with that one...

I'm just a little impatient with the objections placed in this thread titled "I just watched Fahrenheit 911", by people who haven't even seen the damn movie:whip:

Does it seem irrational for someone to determine the factuality of a movie by actually watching it? It's easy to read a two page summery of a two hour movie, but to buy into someone's writing without seeing with one's own eyes seems a little stupid.

And yeah, it was a little childish to bring in the Texan crack, for that I apologize. But hell, i'm not that sorry:p

i saw this movie.
i thought it was a hilarious movie.
Funnier than dodgeball:cool:

Im sorry bub, fact of the matter is people in this country will disagree with you, like it or not.
You cant oppress the movie on those who disagree

Look at michael moore, if you disagree with him, he will label you in his special category called, "idiots of america"

He hates capitlism and he hates you:cool: so do yourself a favor and go to shipley donuts and go buy him a dozen

Again, just responding to your average _______ remark..

i hope you take my words with a grain of salt, because after all, they are just opinions:cool:

I'm not trying to speak for america, nor would i think that america would appreciate me speaking for her. I just wish everyone would be able view things from a relative perspective, not from their own personal beliefs, but rather from the direction they see themselves (and their country) traveling.. Here's a little background on myself: I've been a registered Republican since i registered to vote. Being in the "Jesse Helms" state through all of that, i was constantly on the defensive defending my personal beliefs from the left. Sometime during the Clinton administration i began to broaden my perspective as to seeing the republican party not by what they preach, but by their actions (what an eye opener), which seems a little ironic that this happened in the late nineties, but hell, i guess that's when i began to snoop past what i heard in the news.

Honestly, I don't feel that Kerry is a pillar of goodness, but given the choice right now, I would have to go with him... not because I saw Fahrenheit 911, but because I don't feel that our current president has any interest in the average ________ american.

If for some reason you feel that i'm perpetuating hatred for america by spending a few bucks to catch a movie produced by MM, maybe you should take your thoughts with a grain of salt, too.

:D

I just saw the movie this afternoon as well and loved it. It really expressed my hatred for the Bush administration in a well organized fashion. And for those of you who think Moore is doing this for the money, how come it's only playing in 900 theatres out of the 4000+ theatres all across America?

There are only 2 cinemas in an hour distance that are showing. Two major ones with over six screens have opted not to carry it despite being #1 at the box office. Who says corporate america doesnt have us by the balls?

LOL @ This Thread

PM me if you want to download the movie- sheesh.
The quality is crap but what do you expect.

I would hate someone to have to pay to see this "opinion"
If I am violating a board rule- whatever. delete my message.

Im quite middle of the road myself- I could easily pick
the stupidity from the facts in this movie. It was very annoying watching his "opinions" and alarming to watch his "facts".

:wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Just another in a long series of Michael Moore "lies".

Personally, I think it's a silly issue to raise, but in a broader context it might be significant to some. Anyway, Moore made the smoking gun today...

Moore, the self proclaimed Independent

quote:
One Man, Two Registrations
Michael Moore simultaneously on voter rolls in New York, Michigan
JUNE 28--Prior to last week's Washington, D.C. premiere of "Fahrenheit 9/11," Michael Moore denied that the new documentary represents his de facto endorsement of John Kerry. "I am an Independent," the filmmaker told reporters. "I'm not a member of the Democratic party."

Which is not exactly correct.

New York City Board of Elections records show that Moore, 50, registered to vote in Gotham in 1992, checking off "Democratic" as his party affiliation (below you'll find a copy of his original registration form). He listed his address as the swanky Upper West Side building where he owns a multimillion dollar condominium (Moore's office is on West 57th Street). The filmmaker's New York registration remains active, though he has not voted since an October 2001 Democratic runoff election.

Now here's the good part: Moore is simultaneously registered to vote in Michigan, where registrants aren't even given the option of party affiliation (so he's not an Independent there either). According to Antrim County records, Moore registered last April from his lakefront spread in northern Michigan, where he reportedly splits his time, but has yet to vote in Michigan. He transferred his drivers license to Michigan from New York around the same time, though Moore has a Volkswagen Beetle registered from his Manhattan home.

We're sure this is some kind of innocent mix-up, that Moore forgot to cancel his New York registration before signing up in Michigan. Though, as a New York City voter, TSG can tell you it's hard not to realize you are registered, since a voter's mailbox is regularly bombarded with candidate mail, official voter guides, and Board of Election notices about upcoming elections and reminders about the location of your polling place.

On his web site, Moore asks visitors to take his "Pledge of Democratic Allegiance," which calls for them to register ten new voters this summer and spend one October weekend in a swing state. "The important thing is, if you live in a place like New York or Texas, you gotta head over to Pennsylvania or New Mexico," writes Moore, who provides a list of 18 states, ranked in order of importance, that could go either blue or red. He places Michigan thirteenth on that list.

voter registration records are public record, and there's nothing illegal with publishing them. The thing that brother Bush pulled off for George is a bit different. He hired an independant company to identify voters with criminal records. This is normal political practice, and shouldn't in itself be scrutinized. The foulplay arose when they requested that the voter-purg list not be confirmed. The confirmation process goes through and fixes mistakes that the original generation process overlooks. By not confirming the list, you end up with approximately 90,000 innocent voters removed from the polls. One example I saw was a white guy from ohio was confused with a black democrat in Florida. The date of conviction was listed for 2007. :wtf:

I'll probably get flamed to death for spreading this, but one more night of responses and the Drag is off to Toronto:p
