The only thing that bugs me about it is the "new" sever, version 2 i mean. The response time is really slow, and it deliberately makes you wait 10 secs for the full page to load. does this stop if you pay subscription fees?
Other than that, its prob the best discography site on the net. Its one of the best online tools for a dj. |

yes it is, before i found discogs i was manually entering my records into an MS Excel document... lol, i got to about 70 and my hands were sore and I gave up. DISCOGS ROCKS!
anyhow by now V2 is looking good, only complaint i have is some of the mods are monkeys, they approve releases that are all screwed up (like this debacle over "the new originals - 1799") but then they deny releases that make sense and are entered exactly as they are written on the label. it seems to be the same couple of mods every time too (i won't name anyone)... argh! that is nothing major though and i applaud whoever started the site :D |

| There are set rules for a reason lads, presentational purposes as well as database ones, I've had a few arguements myself but thats the way it is.... stuff like a vinyl having "Alex M.O.R.P.H." written on it but you have to use "Alex Morph" as the remix credit because its in the database..... stuff like that. |

| Takes way too long for moderators to review the submitted release. |

| ya i kinda forgot about that one too... average is a little over a month from submit to first review. :wtf: its somewhat understandable though with all the official record releases alone (not to count CDs, promo's etc) that come out in a week its hard to fathom how big the total queue is on average. |

hence the reason there is a submission limit.. people with higher limits generally get stuff reviewed first because the mods figure that they know whats going on. anyone who doesnt appreciate discogs should be slapped with dj sammy - heaven
