I have to pose this question to all you all knowing trance addicts out there. I am planning to see PVD this July in Chicago but am concerened that he might play one of his harder sets this night. My question is , has PVD moved to a more harder trancy sets over the last 2 years? and is expecting him to play more meldoy type trance and songs like Nothing But You and Tell Me Why asking to much from him??From the times I have seen him ( central park 04, Chciago 04, Milwakke 04) his sets have been 100% hardcore hard beat crap. Me personally , I hate this type pf trance and would appericate in advance to know what tpye of "mix style" is going to be on. Also I have noticed this hard style being adopted by tiesto as well , what other trance dj's have done this so I can aviod buying their tickets in the future as well :nervous:

I wouldn't say it's hard trance, just less melodic. Maybe he'll play his new single. Wir Sind Wir, I think.

Harder = better

His techno/hardtrance sets are just great! We can't stick to 1999 trance all the time. When PvD goes back to the roots he's at his best. There's still some melody, the variety of tracks we heard the last couple of times is very promising :toocool:

i personnally think that when the sets are full of hard stuff, it makes you appreciate the more airy stuff all the more :)

from my experience, i've noticed that PvD likes to experiment depending on the crowd...whenever he spun at twilo, it was always a relaxed, upbeat, uplifting, personal promo night for him...therefore all his productions would get played...but he watches and feels the crowd most times...if hard trance doesn't get love from the majority of the crowd, he'll throw something from '99 or '98 to see what reaction the crowd feels...positive - more retro PVD...negative - expect hard bass pounding all fukn night...i personally hated his sets in Miami and chicago...but new york and europe - pvd is god...so its shoot and miss with him outside these venues but i'd still take the chance....and don't hesitate to send a girl with a request for one of his own production...it seems to work more times than not and gets him in the retro-pvd mode for a bit...have fun tho...hope this helps... :D
