Well, you can never be 100% certain that there have not been a few dinosaur species that somehow managed to survive in some forgotten corners of the earth. |
Or the sea, which seems most plausible to me. Unbelievable, yet an interesting link none the less. |

it's kind of the last stand of the creationists. we've reached the point where the existance of dinosaurs is indisputable, and now they're scratching for any evidence suggesting of co-existance. I haven't checked on the sources offered on this site, but i'm pretty sure most are fabricated. If someone wants to dispute, I'll search around and find counter evidence. if someone wants to dispute;) |
Actually, I would venture to say that their last stand rests a lot more in the Intelligent Design argument (i.e. specified complexity), which has had much more influence on the state BOE than any other creationist argument. Besides, creationism has been struck down and rightfully labelled as religious doctrine by the courts, so for the most part it cannot be taught in public schools (of course the religious nutbag private schools is another matter).
Aside of the counter-points already mentioned, another poster in another forum answered this pretty well. Rather than paraphrase his statement, I'll just be fair and post the whole thing:

Firstly it is believed that different cultures found dinosaur skulls but not complete skeletons. When an artist is presented a skull and told to guess what the rest of it looks like you end up with the vast differences in dragons from legend. If you notice the head of the Chinese dragon is very similar to the head of the english dragon yet almsot everything from the neck down differs.
The same thing happened with the unicorn, the first explorer into africa sent a letter to the queen of england saying "I've seen a creature, its the size of a horse, grey in colour with a horn in the middle of its face". The court artist drew what he could from the discription and got a horse with a horn, quite different from the rhino the explorer was attempting to describe. |

Yeah, well, after all we do find out about new species all the time. Giant squids were discovered like what, 10 years ago? Not to mention that gian ostrich sort of bird that lived on Madagascar up to something like 500 years ago. Hehe, who knows, maybe people really did cause the death of the last surviving dinosaurs...wouldn't be the first species to which that happened... |

hmm. so because people in both China and Europe drew pictures of Dragons, Dragons must have existed right?

| Hmm well their is the posibilty of genetic memory in which the animals we evolved from knew to hide from this and thus the images were pased down threw the ages in teh genes. then again the timeing of even the beging of the evolution of our specise and the end of theirs could be way off. i dont know im not really knowlegable on this topic |
