People say clubbing/fashion go together...this is certainly true w/ "mainstream" clubbing (hip-hop/top 40 clubs). I thought the whole idea behind the original rave/underground scene was that it was "all about the music?" People could dress the way they want and just enjoy the music. I would hate to see trance and other EDM genres get to the point where little teen girls are dieing to see what shirt say Sasha sports at the next venue. LOL! |

| Well with Britney Spears of course, that is a different story it's 90% sex appeal, but I don't think looks make a huge difference in the Electronica scene, it's all about the skills. |

| I think once you actually become well known, keeping your image up would pay for itself (makeovers, sponsered clothing, etc.). I mean, have you seen Ferry Corsten? He's pretty average looking (not a bad thing), but he gets a professional hairstyle and sponsered clothing and he suddenly has a "distinctive look", hehe. |

Well I suppose there is one theory that describes ugly guys becoming DJs because they need the higher profile to pull girls, so that could explain a few monkey boys on the decks.
But one would think that being good looking at a amatuer level could help you get gigs... |

| Oakenfold is an ugly mofo but he got his success as A/R for a music company the Ibiza, then Acid House. Most deejays don't care about fashion anymore, Timo Maas is one ugly mofo but he seems to get laid more often than most, so he must be doing something right. Nick Warren does not care about the spotlight and he is A list, nor does he care about fashion. |
