its all subways fault. if there wasn't subway we wouldn't have such stupid sayings and i wouldn't be so hungry...

You said that people calling girls bitches gets old. I was pointing out that she is indeed a bitch, so it's perfectly valid. Not sure how you saw that as me calling you one.

Anyway, I stand by what I said... if a girl acts like a bitch, then it's fine to call her one. And all this talk of "but sometimes it's necessary so that the guy gets the hint" is BS. It's *never* necessary to be cruel in that kind of situation (as long as he wasn't being mean etc). It may be easier for her, but it still makes her a bitch.

It's not BS, really. Sometimes people really can't take a hint and you have to resort to measures you normally wouldn't to get the point across. It sucks, but that's life.

Or maybe I'm just an .

no i got your back on this one. sometimes people just cannot understand that you don't want to talk to them. i've been in a situation like that and i've tried to be nice about it, but they just don't get the hint and they take it the opposite way then what you had intended...

Haha I will post a perfect example of this situation. I'm going to come off as a huge dick, but whatever.

So, a long time ago my ex-girlfriend wanted to hang out with me and I really didn't want to, but for months I had been dropping hints that I really wanted nothing to do with her and she wasn't getting it so I figured I'd just give it to her in person and she would just have to deal with it. I was going into my sophomore year of college and she was going to be a freshman at the same university. This was right at the point where I was dropping her off at her house - conversation goes as follows:

Ex: "You know, it would be really great if we could hang out a lot next year. I can't wait for you to show me around campus and introduce me to your friends."
Me: "Well, I mean, maybe if I see you on the street or out at a party I'll say hi and hang out, but I really don't want to spend that much time together."
Ex: "I've never had anyone tell me they didn't want to be my friend before."
Me: "Well, there's a first time for everything."

Game, set, match - me. Looking back on it, it was a hugely rude and immature thing to do but it got the point across.

Surely you see the difference between "I don't want to see you ever again!" and "You're an ugly, stupid, porker that nobody would ever want to talk to. Get lost, loser."

Yes, sometimes it's necessary to be forceful. She could have just said "I don't want to talk to you ever again. Go away and leave me alone, understand?" rather than insulting him.

i'm in a similar situation........i'd like all of your advice/comments plz :D

now, my style is to let the girls come to me b/c girls generally like me so i have a "play it cool" style....i rarely hit on girls which means that i sometimes don't get the girls that i want(but sometimes do)....but i need to change my tactics, cuz they seem to come in bunches w/a long drought inbetween

anyway...i met this girl through a friend adn we hung out a couple times w/mutual friends one weekend...she was dropping hints that she was interested....i did my usual "play it cool" thing and it was going well....i like this girl,a nd i'm very picky....good looks, but mostly her personality....so i dropped her and her roommate off one sat night and we exchanged numbers (money!)...however, her roommate likes me as well and i had met her before the girl that i like. her friend had asked me if i liked her....anyway, i called her wednesday night and left a VM. didin't get a call till friday....we talked for a couple mins and she had to go....i called her a couple more times and tried to get together, but she kept saying that she couldn't, but she tried to HOOK ME UP WITH HER ROOMMATE every time.

::big gulp of air::
so then i was like WTF...
a couple weeks later at a bar w/my friend, i left to go to the bathroom and came back and look who's talking to my friend at the bar....yup, the girl taht i like AND Her roommate......we all hung out with a couple of their friends and surprisingly, i didn't feel awkward at all(and i didn't sense much coming from them)....except for one of her friends mentioned SOME OTHER DUDE that she was interested in....now i know that this wasn't deliberate.....one of her friends also mentioned the same dude when we hung out that weekend awhile ago, but not that she was interested....before they left, she told me that we'd get together in August (that's when our mutual friends come back into town) and did a provocative gesture w/her tongue.....now, i'm sure that she was interested in me THAT ONE WEEKEND, but what I need you all for is to tell me if a. she's just playing with me b.she's keeping me on hold while she goes for other dude or c. i was successfully "cockblocked" by her roomate that wants me (BTW, her roommate left my car w/out saying anything while me and the girl i like exchanged numbers...."

and i'm not hijacking this thread! this was my first time being rejected as well, and it sucks, but it's a wakeup call meaning i may have to change my game...

thank you TAs!

I'm not condoning her actions or saying what she said was right, I was merely stating sometimes you need to be a bit more rude than normal to make your point(s).
