| Let's be realistic... the true gamer only buys a game for the online or head to head action.... no real gamer buys it for the single player mode... with that being said, i think the biggest multi player mode for D3 is 4 ppl... yes 4 ppl... however, they do say that the engine can support a mod for more people, but come on, 4 ppl multi player? that sucks enough to not get my vote... and as i'm an avid CS player, i saw some demos of CS on HL2... omg kick ass |

No doubt, if that is the case, a multiplayer expansion will come out in the future to correct that.
I think Id are just spreading those rumours to play down the multiplayer aspect, since Multiplayer has been a MASSIVE element of all their games since the first Doom. |

You obviously do not play games with real purpose. The first Half Life was a hit because the single player mode kicked ass. It was a mission everynight to clock a stage or two.
Games like UT2004 & COD are awesome online. I spend most of my time gaming online these days, but im looking forward to playing out some awesome plotline in HL2. Even doom sounds cool in single player mode. Ill definitly have to play that late at night & hopefully get the sh!t scared out of me!! Better than a horror movie! (AVP beats a horror movie anyday - though im not convinced by the AVP movie about to hit cinemas!~!!!) Online gaming isnt everything, though id agree that a game is crap without it ;) |

Half Life 2 hands down
Doom may be a classic game that inovated computer games as we know it but Hald Life is so much more intricate and interesting than running around killing zombies.
I'm looking foreward to both for sure though. |

| Both should be good... but I really do prefer some strategy involved, which I highly doubt either will bring to the tables. That's why I am more of a WW2 first person shooter like in Enemy Territory. I love the objective based teamplay. You can't just run around and shoot to win. |

| Both games are crap for single-player like all other FPS. Online it's a whole different story. Since HL2 is going to get good MODS like Counterstrike 2, HL2 is going to be better. |
