Yes, I have seen the videos, and I own both Counter-strike and Condition Zero. The videos are doctored up a bit. Im not saying that it wont be an impressive game, I just think it'll be hard to top Doom 3. The beta from Gimp-Rus is atleast fun to play with and shows a little of what's to come. |

| Half Life 2 looks insane. I passed up getting Doom 3 because I heard the multiplayer was beat. On the other other hand CS:S is just crazy. :eyespop: HL2 for sure! |

And have u played the css beta? Id guess not from ur comment about the physics (theyre very good in css, i doubt dooms physics are more realistic)

From what i hear doom 3 has about as much gameplay as the other doom games (which were utter e imo) and is extremely repetitive. Half life 2 will probably have groundbreaking gameplay, so i dont really know how u come to that conclusion (maybe doom is a lot better than people have been saying?). |

Are you joking me?? CS:S is nothing but improved maps, some phyiscs yes, but mostly higher res characters and such. It's basically a more enhanced Counter-strike.
And the first few videos that Valve released were doctored. Watch the first few again or check out gip-rus beta of it... it's pretty obvious. |

I'll have to wait till they come out to judge, but.. I'm buying HL 2 when it comes out, I'll wait with Doom 3 till I see how it is... |

Id software developed their own in house physics system, and Valve licensed it from Havok, but have modified it. Now from what I expreienced in D3, it was utter ..
Physics dont make the game, but its a nice feature which can greatly increase the number of paths to the same objective, an add a bit of chaos theory into the gameword :) |

I don't really care if Doom 3 is repetitive. But it sure is scary as hell. That's what makes it fun to play. I like the graphics as well.
I'm also a big half-life fan and from what i've seen (videos), it looks pretty damn awesome.
My vote goes for both. =) |

hl2 has my vote... and for one simple reason... downscaleable engine
for those of u who don't know waht that means, it means that i don't need to upgrade my computer to play it
when i first saw that doom 3 was out i picked it up for about 30 seconds, then put it back on the shelf... might have something to do with the fact that it only runs on xp (i'm running ME) and that my system is a lot closer to the minimum specs than the recommended
also, as someone who lives in the middle of nowhere, and therefore is stuck with about a 36k dialup connection, i do find the single player game to be extremely important, as i do not play most gmaes online due to those three little words gamers love to say "ban the lagger"
the good thing is that soon i will be in the city, and enjoying cable internet... i will actualy be able to download a demo for a new game in less than a day... |
