Allright first things first,
Buying me and Vlad a beer, shot of vodka and tequilla 15 canadian dollars.
Buying a pill just to find out that i'm immune to mdma 20 canadian dollars
buying some sort of shot that was 10% voda 90% sugar for me, Amanda, John, Brian, Joey, Vlad, and the girl who was selling them 35 canadian dollars
Getting kissed by brian, PRICELESS!!!!

What a in weekend, forgive me for all the cursing imma do but it seems fit for what god damn weekend i had.
We got to brians place @ 5 in the morning just to find him passed out in bed after a wild night. we talked for like 30 minutes and then went to bed. woke up @ 1 went to get something to eat then went back to brians place to get ready to head for toronto. brians friends got there around 4 i believe Jonathan and Amanda. I was greeted with open arms by Amanda and i've never met her before. we talked for a bit then we all left to toronto. since it's 4 guys in 1 car, and since vlad looks like a hardcore terrorist on his NY ID and also because outta the 4 guys i'm the only one that stands out we get sent to the parking lot to get the car checked out... we THOUGHT we had nothing to worry about but later on we found out that we did lol :haha:
we got lucky and then headed for toronto as soon as we get to the hotel me and vlad (Me ='s 19 Vlad ='s 20) go into a bar and i buy vlad a beer and a shot of vodka, it finally set in that we're in canada and we're at a legal drinking age !
we didn't get the room we were told we were going to get but it's all good, we only spent about 3 hours in it. we all went upstairs and got pimped out then we went to guv, brian pays 20 bucks for his ticket and then finds 20 dollars on the floor... wtf...
we get in and damn is it nice in there.
we waited to get into Guv because it opens a little later than kool haus when we get in Mark Oliver is allready dropin some SICK tracks, tune of the WHOLE night i honestly believe was when Mark dropped Beasty Boys - Fight for your right (JXL Mix) crowd went :crazy: :crazy: :crazy: :crazy:
went into kool haus and met Marco V... well... Marco V had the funniest god damn shirt on it said "Hijo De Puta" i know how to ready, write and speak spanish so when i saw that i laughed SOOOO hard and he laughed with me even though he didn't really know what it meant. Took some pics with him then he got on stage and decided to give everyone a new a-hole soon after anal projection came on. Even though they were s they did throw down a damn good live pa set but what did get to me was that they played into M.I.K.E.'s time. Finally, around 4:20 mike comes on... M.I.K.E. the mofuggin GOD!! He teased everyone with a track that sounds ALOT like strange world. i wrote on my phone "turn out the lights!!!" and showed it to him, he took my phone gave it back and shrugged so i didn't know what was going to happen, soon after mike dropped the bombs on us, Strange World and Universal Nation... Once again we had a brand new a-hole and at around 5:30 i took a flyer from one of the walls and wrote down on it "M.I.K.E. is GOD!" and showed it to him, he laughed and gave it back then i showed him the message again. he just looked at me that time. at 6 something he finished up and i was just like .... wtf he's not gonna play it? then brian (teh G0D of chanting) starts to yell out "TURN OUT THE LIGHTS!! TURN OUT THE LIGHTS!!!" then i knew that i should back him up on that so i did and then so did 40+ other people... Not Jonathan and Amanda though lol (Sorry guys :()
I'm pretty sure that half of the people chanting "Turn out the lights" thought it was an actual request for him to turn out the lights because i spoke to a couple of people that didn't even know who he was and i saw them chanting. M.I.K.E. starts to look for the track on his powerbook and the funny thing is that he couldn't find it but BAM!!!
DAT NIGGA WHIPDED OUT THE VINYL! starts it up and i danced my tiny little heart out like there was no tomorrow. afterwards i went up to him and bowed down letting him know that he was the man and asked him to sign the flyer. then brian came over and i told him that a bunch of TA's came from NYC to see him and marco and he goes "You guys are TA's ?" and brians like ... Yeah so he stays quiet for a bit and goes "You guys are a bunch of kids yeah" and we all just laughed we asked him when he was coming down to N.Y. and he said he should be coming down in about 3 weeks so you KNOW that i'm there. in the end it was just me, brian and joey that stayed @ guv and mark just kept spining great tracks, in a state, open your eyes, yimanya (which i heard like 5 times) finally they kicked us out.... i'll be back later to finish this story, i just got back to NY and i gotta go to work :( :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: |

We got into Toronto a big late due to customs searching the whole car (set us back 45 min) Met up with FlamStrike, madhattared, Amy, Joanna, Janette, and Kasper. Got to Guverment around 12....no line thanks to John for the guest list!!! Chilled in KH till they opened Guv up and thats when Mark Oliver began to rip up. Marco V showed up in KH around 12:30 and we all got to chat with him before he went on and even got a group shot with him.:happy2: Marco destroyed us all with his hard tech trance sound. SOOOO many sick tracks!!! Three times so far this year and Marco has not disappointed me yet. Astral Project was alright....nothing special here.....and since I seen them last week @ Nation I didn't really get into their set. MIKE aka Push really impressed me.....so much better than his set @ Mansion in March. Hearing Universal Nation and Strange World by the man himself was AMAZING!!! Big props to MIKE also.....first time playing out on final scratch and his mixing was great. We got a few words in with MIKE after his set....what a down to earth guy.....took the time to answer some questions from the TA's and then took a group shot with us all.
Shout outs....of course the NYTA's that make the trip up....Vlad, Sergio, and Joey (what a great focking time guys....and I can't wait to do it all over again for Labour of Love!!!)wouldn't have been the same without you guys!!! Jonathan and Amanda (Im so glad you guys came...you guys rock and its always a great time when you guys are around;) ) John....thanks again for the guest list bro, tha_broad and Dr.GoodVibe (nice seeing you guys again:gsmile: ) Danielle (dnmr) and Carney...you guys are awesome and I can't wait to party with you guys again @ LOL. Tordan...nice meeting you man and its glad to see somebody like yourself from Toronto that really appreciates Guvnment. Monish...glad you came out man. And last but not least......Cuzo....you crazy mother focker....your a blast to party with man!!! Let me start this off by saying something to Brian. Yo dude, stop being a post hog and leave some room for someone else to write a review!!:rolleyes: :tongue2 LOL!!! Seriously though, Brian said it all. This weekend was amazing. Gov/KH is an awesome place. The lasers and are breathtaking. The crowd is unbelievable & friendly. I only have nice things to say about my first rondevous to Canada, well, with the exception of the Canadian Customs.
More importantly, to Brian , Vlad and Sergio; you guys are the best. I always have a genuinly great time when hanging out with you guys. We're def. the official NYTA f0ckin' Pimps!!! Just look at some of those crazy pics! I'm getting the film developed in my camera today and will put it on a disc and send it to Brian and figure a way to post them. Sorry, don't have the digital cam. I'm still old fashioned and use the kodak disposable's!!LOL!
The music was awesome. Marco V ripped it, as expected. Mark Oliver was also really good. Track of the night was def. Fight for Your Right---Junkie XL mix. We all freaked out and sang along to it, as you will see in the videos when Brian finds someone to host them for him! Contrary to other prior posts, Astral Projection's set was another f0ckin highlight. Despite a couple of trainwrecks, the music had some bangin' basslines and some cool melodic . The tempo was really fast, I would say like 140-145 bpm. If you like the hard , this was the place to be. MIKE was great also. Enjoyed meeting and talking to him and Marco V. Really down to Earth DJ's.
ONE MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT ABOUT THE CLUB WAS THE F0CKIN HIP HOP ROOM SMACK IN BETWEEN KOOL HAUS AND GOV. THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT ! YOU CAN'T WALK BETWEEN THE TWO PLACES WITHOUT HAVING TO DEAL WITH THAT ROOM! There's nothing worse then rollin' and being at the peak of it only to have it ruined by having to hear HOP when you are going to the other half of the place with your friends. They need to build a SOUND PROOF UNDERGROUND TUNNELL that connects KH&GOV so that other people don't have to experience the same I did. It totally ruined the whole feeling!!:whip: :whip: :whip:
The drive back from Toronto was not as bad as I expected. I would totally do this whole weekend all over again if I had the opportunity to do so. Wait......I just remembered that I WILL BE DOING THIS AGAIN FOR LABOUR OF LOVE ON 9-5-04. I can't F0ckin wait. Back to the driving part. Like Sergio & Brian mentioned we left Pitts at 4PM and didn't get to Toronto til 11PM. We left Toronto at 2PM yesterday and I didn't get back to the city until I dropped Sergio off at his house @ 5AM and then I shot straight into work at 5:30. Take away the 2-3 hours of restless back-seat of the car semi-nap I took on the way back from Brian's place and I'm on 43 hrs of being awake. All that nap did was make my headache worse. Whatever. I knew it was time to hand over the keys to the BitchBoy bus when I was doing 80 in the left lane on the PA tpke one minute and then, what seemed to be a blink of the eye, had me drifted into the right lane doing 50 with no one in front of me or behind me and no recollection or explanation of why this happened.;) So I pulled over at the next gas station and handed the keys to sergio at like 12:30 and then the rest is history. See, we're responsible people most of the time.
Anywho! It was great meeting Amanda & Jonathan. You guys are awesome and I can't wait to hang out with you guys again. Maybe PVD in Sept in DC.......Sounds like a plan to me!;)
Amy, Joanna, Jeannette, and Casper: You guys are awesome also and I had fun chillin' with you guys in Toronto. We all must hang out again SOON! TA BEACH PARTY MAYBE!!! HINT HINT!!!

this is gonna be along day of work after a 1000+ mile roadtrip this weekend. soooooo worth it though

Hey guys, sorry I didnt really see/reckognize any of you :(
This party was alot of fun, but will be nothing compared to Labour of Love :D
Anyways here's my review from the Toronto forum:
I got there @ 1:30am.. in DVP was closed south of bloor st..
i came in, Marco V was bangin it out... I liked his set, hard and techy.. he closed off his set with katana - in silence (txitxarro remix), that was wikked, love that track... that build up by the end is just insane.
Astral Projection was ok... nothing special IMO.. they played hard too, but i like Infected Mushroom 100x more.. got right beside their booth during their "Live PA", and yeah, and didnt see them playing anyhting on the keyboards lol... i didnt mind their drinkin much, but getting plastered like that is a bit going overboard. I dont care that they do it, just dont let it affect what we're paying for. Theyre still there to do a job and they could of been more professional about it. Doesnt mean they cant party along and have a good time tho. Moderation. The ppl partying dont even go around spraying ppl with alcohol and drinkin outta the bottle.
Left the KH, went to guv for a while, Dave Ralph was playing some good tunes The guv was kicken. A lot more packed than the KH. Didnt stay long. I noticed a funky smell in the orange room everytime i went from Guv/KH LOL.
Wasnt too fond of the "israel, israel" Chants after AP was done, and MIKE was about to start. I didnt mind the flag at all.. Actually i liked it when infected was here. But the chants i felt were uncalled for at that time.. others were chanting PUSH/MIKE, cuz he was gonna start then all i hear is "israel, israel" common.. obviously not the right time
Push, well, simply put, PUSH WAS THE ! Incredible.. He started off a lil slow, then got harder really quickly. I loved his set... Great mixing, great flow, great tracks Trance the way i like it. Played lots of good tunes, and some push classics too. live another life, the legacy, naranja, somebody (FC mix), just kick (CC mix), never (not the whole track, but beginning), strange world
i left a lil after 6... funn party...
