Sounds like a hastle to me:conf: I couldn't amagine trying to get through customs with a huge RV full of people from diffrent states.....they would prob search the damn thing for hours.:rolleyes: |

Well, i am still in bed recovering from an incredible weekend, and now that my account is *finally* activated i can finally post something!!
First of all, thanks so much brian for talking me into coming. Me and joanna have been talking about going to canada since senior year of high school and we finally got there, and we werent disappointed!!
the drive there sucked. the drive home - sucked even more. but we had no problems getting through customs (except that i didnt know my license plate number, lol) and my car actually made it, which none of us thought would happen. it was so hard sitting in that car for 8 hours so psyched for that party, it was ridiculous. i couldnt focus. and after getting out of work around 4 am, not really sleeping and then leaving at 10am, there wasnt a whole lot of energy in me... just a load of redbull.
we got to the hotel on exactly 1 tank of gas, $20US. went down to the hotel bar for some drinks. just as one of the locals was telling us not to try to take back poundcake through customs (apparently his friend did this for some reason and got his car searched for hours) brian calls me to say they are stuck at customs for like 40 minutes getting searched and questioned and they are on their way into canada now. guess you should pack a few cute girls in your car next time, you'll get through no problem ;)
so a few drinks later in walks brian with some TA's... we all got ready, caught some cabs, and headed to the club around 11.
I thought the clubs were awesome. I loved the lights, the decor, the people, everything. Marco V was the main reason for this trip, since i missed him every time he was at Glow, and when we tried to see him at arc and he got cancelled.... and he was better than i could have imagined. The middle club was hiphop and it really sucked to have to squeeze through there and not get nailed in the head by some thug waving his hands wildly through the air at you. it was easy to get up front and we were approached by many friendly canadians... so different from the new york and philly clubs where we'd get attacked just trying to dance by men who cant take no for an answer and try to grind up on you from every angle... everyone in toronto was friendly as hell and everyone was there to just dance and have a good time. i feel like i met everyone in the whole club! I finally got to talk to the TAs that came with brian -- vlad, joey, sergio, you guys were an absolute blast to party with and i cant wait til we can do it again. And jonathan and amanda -- entertaining to hang out with you again, i never laughed so hard in my life.
I didnt think anything could top marco v's set. well astral projection came on next and even though a lot of people noticed some ups, i really enjoyed their set, and i didnt go into that with high expectations cuz i'm not a huge psytrance fan. but i wasnt really expecting what i heard, and i was defintiely pleased. by this point, J and J were off on some kind of mission and i was just bumping into them every now and then. Me and brian took a walk out by the doors to get some air and it was a good time to just go chill for a bit and rest up my legs, because i wasn't prepared for MIKE!
mike came on and completely blew me away. i totally was not prepared for the set he layed down. i havent danced that hard since -- Glow, i guess, and i actually did something to my lower back, thats how awesome it was to dance to his set. it was around that time i met a lot of cool guys in the front and danced with them for a bit and brian was going camera-happy with my cam since i couldnt take a decent picture to save my life. some nice strangers saw me struggling to take pics of the djs too and offered their tallness and camera skills. so out of about 300 pics i took, i did manage to get about 70 good ones -- thanks brian. as soon as my webhosting company activates it, i will post the link. there are some video clips too and i'm going to put brian's up there as well. the only thing i'm pissed about is missing dave ralph, since they had him on in the other club at the same time as mike, and not only did brian and i only make it halfway there and then totally forgot where we were headed and decided to stay in koolhaus and dance, but it also sucked to walk through that goddamn hiphop club. and of course, everyone raved about how great dave was. go figure.
me, joanna, and vlad ended up leaving about an hour before they shut down so we went back to the hotel, where janette and kasper were already half-passed out. we took showers and got the afterparty going glow-style and the rest of them came back about an hour later and joined our room. i cant believe none of us remembered to bring something to play music on. we were taking turns with the i-pods, lol. that is, those of us coherent enough to be able to work one. so basically we all ended up on the floor in the entrace of the room, in this little hallway thing, for some reason, talking til 1 in the afternoon, and i became one with brian's leg and an end table and was totally entertained just listening to jonathan and amanda talk about i dont even know what. that's now 2 sleepless night, and still going strong.
we checked out at 1:30 we got to customs, got through no problem, and in keeping with tradition, got lost. finally we found dennys and when you havent eaten or slept in 2 days, denny sounds damn good. but none of us ate much and i know i, for one, was falling asleep at the table.
but thats nothing some adderall couldnt fix and somehow i managed to get us home in one piece (and my car). we are totally planning on our next trip to canada sometime in the near future! no excuses for those of you who missed this!
unfortunately sky and i are missing labour of love to see pvd in miami.... we might be missing a good time but we NEVER miss paul. sorry guys....
