| a friend of mine told me i should do that, i dunno, somthing about spinning for a bunch of 17 year olds who wana hear 50 cent instead doesn't do it for me, but since i'd do it for free, the school would 100% take me, i'm just not sure if i wana, my friends all gun ho about it though, thoughts? |

I'd be playing a few crap hip hop songs but I'd be playing dj shadow and roots manuva and throw in GDMFSOB for kicks.
I'd play some house, some trance, some techno and hell I'd throw in drum n bass but all tracks that I wanted.
Throw in Marky Star feat. Black Santa - Buy This Record...gets big reactions...the odd slow song...hell you look like a genius. |

I never deejayed a high school dance myself but I told a friend what to play...the biggest reaction was the real mcCoy runnaway club mix :). Play that at +2 I reckon
Chemical Brothers - Outta Control HAS TO BE PLAYED!....it works so well for stupid high schoolers and it works in clubs....it's uptempo
Throw some ill skillz for bass!
Throw in Vengaboys - Kiss (Airscape Mix) actually my friend did what I told him to, he had the original on CD (his sister bought the album) and then had the mix on CDR cuz the vinyl is rare as )..played the first minute of the vengaboys and then started to scratch a bit then dropped the song out and yelled NO MORE ING CHEESE!!!!! over a stunned crowd then crank in the remix, he had his g.f make him some posterboard signs, one said REMIX!!!!!!!!, so he got some hottie to hold that and his g.f to hold choon! as a sign and the ing crowd loved it....he accepted all the congrats, it was me who came up with the idea....ing worked....hehehehe....the look on the rockers faces.
Brings up rockers, I'd play a few dance mixes of rock tracks say hybrid's mix of take a picture, you have to throw in say hyper mix of stupid...must play! The ing noobs have no clue about it, they know the original.....take the ign roof OFF!!!! |

| in my school, you'de be boo'd. ide be your only fan. sorry, but it is true, all they wanna hear is 50 cent hip hop, and lil jon crunk. but most of the kids would be oblivious to any mixing, so make all the mistakes u want. in my school, the dj puts one song on at a time, and its a 40 year old birthday party dj. a wack, throw in a cd and play track 09 pissy dj, if he even deserves to be a called a dj. |

| when i was at school about 6 years ago i span at a girls birthday party... and i should add that i was going thru my gabba/speecore phase, and anyways i was being sensible i was spinning stufff like chicane - sunstroke etc, and no-on e was dancing so i plugged the headphones into the mic output, and shouts right if i dont see anyone dancing in the next five minutes im gonna whack sum deathchant on.. so still.. no-one got up to dance other than a few girls, so i cut the music out, and blastd syum of the bes hardcore your ever likely to hear for the last 2 hours... no-on e still danced [obv] but i had a blast hammering hard as hardcore live on stage :D |

but you mix enough hip hop (the odd banger I guess) like Shake Ya Ass, A Eminem song, a shadow song, leftfield's dusted is cool
then you throw in bangers of house, trance, techno and other genres, I'd play maybe a rock song or two like Rage Against The Machine - Guerilla Radio, throw in say monkey wrench by the foo, the odd u2 remix make them happy
then play uptempo bangers, hell throw acapellas over those songs, use hip hop acapellas...keep the crowd happy...
my school was mostly hip hop idiots but that dance worked too well...my friend is still a legend....80% of the stuff he played....i told him to play
play old basement jaxx, groove armada's I see you baby, old fatboyslim song....they know that ....lol then mix in the songs you want |

play old electronic, massive attack, fatboyslim, groove armada....they all love that and you can dance.
they work on any dancefloor and then play dance mixes of famous songs like hyper's mix of god is a dj, stupid and like that because they recognize the voice. |

| all those mofo's like that happy hardcore jiberish. at my school atleast, i took some kids home from school one day and i put some trance tracks in and the reaction was wtf is this? i put happy hardcore and i was like here, this is for you, keep it away from me. but they in liked it! |
