| I dont know why people tend to think that American news broadcasts only show good things happening, when I tend to see the opposite. They typically only show the bad things happening in Iraq and rarely show any positive news, even if some does exist. They ignore the soldiers interaction with the people and my biggest complaint about any tv media is they all focus on the story of the moment and it almost appears as though nothing else is happening in the world other than little snippets. Even though it may be biased I think CNN probably has the best coverage of American TV simply because its on more than the other networks. Fox tends to have lots of opinion based shows or one on one shows while the major networks like NBC, ABC, and CBS have to cram everything in short half hour news networks. |

It's no secret that Fox News finally offers an alternative to the liberal network news that has been stuffed down our throats for years. What I find funny is how badly liberals seem to want to censor Fox News BECAUSE it presents a more conservative point of view. What about FREE SPEECH, guys??? Does it really bother liberals THAT much that Conservatives have a media outlet as well? Wow, talk about a power hungry group of freedom haters! They have nothing to complain about.
And *Newsflash* most of the "conservative" content on Fox News that liberals complain about is O'Reilly, Hannity, etc. i.e. Shows that are not "News" shows, rather are talk shows which are designed to have an opinion on matters, one way or another. When it comes to straight news(Fox & Friends Morning Show aside--all morning news shows are gay), Fox offers better, more comprehensive news coverage of what's going on in the world. There are more news stories covered, more content delivered--finally an alternative to CNN(Which yes, leans more to the left than to the right--sorry guys, it's true). |
There is a difference with free speech then lets say, misinform their audience, or potray false claims. Its NO secreat that the people that watch Fox news are probably the most misinformed.. wonder where all those people that thought that Saddam was linked 9/11 watched.. Fox News. It is scary, because things like this make people IGNORANT, and in matters like this, ignorance is no good for the world.. more when we are talking about the most powerfull country in the world. |

Ideology gets in the way of you seeing things.
You believe things are incorrect because they are put in a different light.
What about the mass coverage on Michael Moore on the liberal networks?
All distortion of facts.?
Also, I guess the Russians watched Fox news as well, since their intelligence along with tony blair/uk were misinformed about the saddam link?
Yea The Russians were partying at Bush's ranch. They are best friends.
Learn to accept differences between the ideologies before calling people ignorant. |

Can you show me where Fox News actually said that Saddam was linked to 9/11? I believe the administration has maintained all along that there is not evidence that can directly tie Saddam to 9/11. |

Well, let me tell you. As I grew up, the first president who I read and caught my attention was Ronald Reagan, whom I really liked, then came Bush, whom I didnt read so many positive things about, and then I lived under the Clinton era.. and now, with the Bush and Al Gore debates, I went for Al Gore, dint like Bush, but hoped he would show the good of him, which I thought I could have under-estimated. As he entered the presidency, he really started to screw up.. he didnt even shadow his father on terms of been a good president. I could say that he's father was far better then what Bush really is. I say this, because is not like Im talking and whining blindly about Bush.
About the idiology's and Moore.
To be honest, Bush has done more bad then good, more mess ups then the presidents I had mention, to the United States of America, and Ive never been in such ambient and times that we live in now. Just by seen how the 2000 elections were held and done, it tells you how controled, and manipulated power can be, and thats something this Administration has overwhelmingly done.
So yes, the Russian intelligence may have said it, but just like that, the Russian intelligence told this administration that Al Quaida was planning an attack to the US.. why didnt he do anything about it then?!?!
PS: THere is a lot of ignorant people here in the United States, who would go on either side without even knowing what they stand for.. who dont even know who the first american president was, or not even know what all the 50 states are. Im talking comparing to the rest of the world. And having networks feed us with limited information, only one sided, does help make the people far more ignorant.. in my opinion, thank god for C-SPAN. |

WTF does that mean: ' Ideology gets in the way of you seeing things. '?
that sentence is garbage- as i doubt you yourself has overcome the issue of *ideology*! i dont argue one side or another, but the Political Forum has turned into a forum for conservatives (the Right, in America) to bash crazy liberals. hello, politics should be about issues and decisions, not right/wrong, good/evil, binary...
debating the validity of broadcast news is rediculous, and this forum has turned into a transverse replica of so many 'liberal media outlets'.
thank god there are the worthwhile posts of very few here, who strive to entertain AND inform members with worthwhile topics that generally dont fall into Left/Right or Zionist debates| |
