they're hated because they win and have usually been a successful team. How dare you call me a bandwagon jumper....DO YOU NOT READ MY POSTS?? All my other teams are crap, yet I still proudly support them. Do you know what it's like to be an Everton fan these days?

You're such an idiot.

You were just arguing before that they weren't that successful and hadn't won all that much.

Everton had a pretty ordinary season last year, but didn't do too bad the year before. If thats your idea of supporting a crap team, than that proves the point.

I just want to talk football.

So I'm not allowed to post here unless I agree with popular opinion?

I'll give it a go.

Question from American that has never been to England, but has watch ManU a few times on tv: "How exciting, we beat those Arsenal bastards! I hate them so much".

"Yes, it was so exciting, I agree".

Is that a little more acceptable?

Oh my god...it's pointless to argue with you. The Yankees have won the World Series 26 times since being founded over 100 years ago. While I have been alive, they have won it 4 times. They are successful, but they do not win it every year...far from it.

Everton had an ordinary season? They finished only 6 points away from being relegated! They have no money for transfers, are 40 million pounds in debt, the board is squabbling. They have not won a trophy since 1995 and have not made a serious run at the League in nearly 15 years. The future does not look bright, but I will stand by them.

Are you sure you're not American?

You are such a faithful football fan, like an iron pillar.

So tell me, who will you support if Everton get relegated?

I won't support anyone, though I'll still pay attention to the Premiereship because it's my favourite league. I would always still follow Everton in the hopes of them making it back up. They haven't gone down in 50 years, have had many scares since then and I don't think they'll go down just yet.

So supporting a so called "crap team" in your opinion makes someone a true supporter, what a load of bollocks. You can support any team in the world that you want. You can support a new team every month if you want too.

Core fans check up on their team every day. I know more about some teams, than some of my best friends, and can tell them what happening in their team.

And the argument of supporting a crap team because

1/ you were young
2/ you started when they were crap

Is one of the common arguments that people always bring up, most people get into sports through their parents anyway, dosn't take a high iq to work that one out. My grandad used to collect man utd cards from long ago, and he has them in some cigarette box locked away.

This thread is 100% bull. And such a thread should never have been started in the first place, the title obviously suggests that it wasnt well thought out.

^^^^ actually...that was my whole point genius. I grew up as fans of the teams I mentioned. All my teams have had highs and lows...but TRUE fans stick by their teams during the lows, whereas so many so called fans just stop paying attention if the season has gone badly.

I see it happen here with hockey...everybody and their mother are Toronto Maple Leaf fans during playoff season, but if they lose, watch out.

All the fan boys annoy me, bet lots of man u supporters who didnt have access to cable tv didnt even watch the match yesterday, i was up to 2.30am watching the re-run of the match.

You will find that most of the fan boys switched over to chelsea, real madrid (when beckham left), and arsenal when they started becoming popular. There are many more teams around, and man utd aren't the only dominant team anymore. Calling someone a fanboy at the moment, you could apply those terms to arsenal supporters, as they are another successful team.

The players and fans should be from their own place in my view, not from different towns and countries. But just shows how money and image revlove around these big clubs.

Yeah everyone's got a home team, but you're implying someone in South Africa isnt allowed to support any team in Europe. Ultimately, you start to favour the teams that play the way you like and have opportunities to watch.

And also not have foreigners on different teams? Sorry bud, unrealistic proposition. And no fan would want that either.

Finace, culture, entertainment, etc. have all been globalized. And football is no different.
