Would u bash it cuz its on the radio? on tv? Or would this be a dream come true?

My feelings about this are mixed. I would love for the trance scene to get bigger, but the thing is... radio DJ's dont know what REAL trance is. Ive thought about the idea of a trance radio show like they have in Miami and I like it, but as long as who ever is gonna be running the show has a vast knowledge of the ENTIRE EDM scene and not just one genre or just cater to what certain crowds like. Plus it obviously the radio show needs to air during the weekdays to get some sort of ratings, whos gonna be listening to the radio on the weekends? Were out or inside a club. :p Also, if the radio show is established, I believe that they should be allowed to plug into Avalon, Crobar, Roxy, etc... and record sets than broadcast them on the air.

Thats just a couple things that are in my head.

mebbe i shouldve rephrased the post a lil better. . . .

what if we had djs of pvd/armin/tiesto/ferry/j00f caliber playin on the radio non stop. And songs from Just Be were being played on MTV. . . .

the really nice thing about trance? is that its not overplayed on the friggin radio. so if i hear a song to much its really only my fault. i guess i'd be caught in between because i want alot of my friends from home to hear trance and see how amazing it is but they're all to proud and won't listen to the music with an open mind.

I like it the way it is....if it becomes more mainstream...hate to say it but it will become no more special than rock or rap.

Don't want it to become mainstream, because like anyother music, when it becomes mainstream, it just doesn't have the same meaning.

I support what you're saying 100% but like brian said if it does go commercial it won't be anymore special that rock or rap, in a way i like how we have it now but i would like for it to be played in the radio so that certain people that are listening for a certain sound can perhaps find our sound and be a part of it.
Trancer
it doesn't matter - cause it never will - i read a great webpage on why true EDM in general will never succeed on U.S. radio like 2-3 years ago - will search for the link for it tomorrow if I have time - it's an interesting article that makes some interesting, hard to question points about EDM's inability to capture the radio masses in our country. Anyway - later, Alex

true alex. i agree
but if it does happens, then so what, music is music.
if ure against mainstream then u should stop going to sasha & diggers gigs, etc.. cuz theyre already mainstream and so is paul van dyk, armin ,ferry and tiesto.
becoming mainstream means less good? just because more poeple know about it and its not 'special' anymore doesnt mean it sucks. and if the reason you were listening to it was because it was unknown not because of its quality then it doesnt matter if it will become mainstream or not, ure not in it for the proper reasons. :clown:

the only pro with it being mainstream is that itll be more accessible. Buyin trance records is really the suck cuz all my records I had to get imported. The day I can buy all my records domestic for $5 i will my pants.

I would think it'd be good and bad. Good because, like Busy Child said, we can find more of it without having to order everything. I also would like it in the sense that there'd be more tolerance to trance or EDM. Let's face it, America hates trance.
