So since most people here are bashing other countries and defending their own country, i thought it might be fun to start a thread were people can bash on their own country.
people posting "nothing" or similar just shows how ignorant they are ;)
so let me start:
bad things about swedish politics:
-rarely take sides in conflicts, often just support the strongest side.
-sometimes the politicians/normal people are too far from reality, they are living in an own world too much, a world that perhaps worked 50 years ago...
-Too much substitutes for unnecessarily things.
-Too many extreme left people.
Hmm yeah i think i can come up with more, but that's enough for now :p |
Good topics and some good issues you posted there St_Andrew. I'll see if I can continue:
- The system within many politcial parties, especially the ruling Social Democrats, tends to favour people who have been working their way up in the party lines the tradiditional ways (usually for many years). Having worked in real life and/or getting a proper education is not nearly as important. An example of this is we have an economy minister who hasn't had a proper job ever and didn't even graduate high-school (gymnasiet). :nervous:
- Although I have nothing against paying taxes I have started to feel they really are mis-managing the whole thing. We have the highest tax-burden in the world and despite this the school system and health care systems are just getting worse and worse.
- The general belief among Swedish citizens that we are a very open minded people when in fact too many people have problems accepting those who are different and all kinds of foreigners. Good luck finding a job in this country if you have the wrong name.... |

I want to thank Erik (SAnd) and you for these kind of insights. I have lived in and studied Sweden for a fair bit, and despite knowing the general state of affairs - these are the kind of things that aren't told to most of the world (for example, non swedes).
I remember talking to swedes and wondering why so many from StockholmsNation were so pro-captialism, while others may have not been so! And the immigrant/refugee problem is often not discussed either. It speaks volumes for Western or Nothern Europe as well as other places| |

Hmm, let's see what I hate about Croatia...
1. Although I infact feel that a corrupt society did infact help me get my way on an occasion or two, I would give the first place to corruption, and more importantly lack of belief that a non-corrupt croatian society is possible.
2. Bueraucracy. It's rediculous how much paperwork is needed to do even the smallest things. When I bought a car, I had to go to 5 different places, giving on each one a different copy of the same damn contract. Now I'm waiting 3 weeks to get a new ID card, because my old one expired. Of course, to get it, first I have to go to one place where I get the certificate it's been made, then I have to go to the opposite side of town to get it.
3. A large number of population that thinks WW2 or cold war are still going on, and that keep attacking political parties for "carrying out nazi/communist policy".
4. Political parties that carry out nazi policy :)
5. A general anti-serbian feeling in the society.
6. Nationalism.
7. Continuous desperate attempts to portray Croatia as a country that has nothing to do with Balkan peninsula and former Yugoslavia. |

BTW... this is a post on bad thing in Australia :)
1.) John Howard - taking credit for the economy situation after 96. Going into Iraq even though a large majority of Aussies don't even support the freakin' war. Using the Bali bombing as an excuse and inciting fear of 'terrorism'. The Asylum Seeker situation, there's some sort of cover up that they don't us to know about. Not to mention his irritating voice :).
2.) Broadband/Internet Connection - It sucks :) admit it, it's slow and a couple of months ago there's limit download and if you go over you have to paid like 20 cents for 1MB o.O"
3.) ty Defence Force - Yea... the SAS, F/A 18 are quite satisfactory, but the of the arsenal in the defence force aren't sufficient to do crap other than to catch illegal immigrants and boat people.
4.) Bloody Drought - hasn't rained up here in Brizzy for the past 6 months, well it kinda rained a couple of days ago, but do you call that rain? It's less than 1mm...
5.) Rugby League - I wouldn't call it "footy" because you hardly use the foot to kick the ball. As well as that, the State of Origin rivalry pisses me off extensively ;). I could also understand why Rugby Union and AFL are classified as Footy, but League? Na... :whip:
6.) Health Care, Tertiary Education System, Taxation Systems + Welfare Systems - Just the flaws in them, not to mention a couple of years ago those ppl on the dole were yeaping hardworking white collar workers off. |

Hmm this is easy:
American Adults Religious Identification (Age 18+)
Christian Religious Groups
Catholic 24.5%
Baptist 16.3%
Christian (no denomination specified) 6.8%
Methodist/Wesleyan 6.8%
Lutheran 4.6%
Other [>1%]: Presbyterian; Pentecostal/Charismatic, Protestant, Nondenominational, Episcopalian/Anglican; Morman/Latter-Day Saints; Churches of Christ
Other [= or >.3%]: Jehovah's Witness; Seventh-Day Adventist; Assemblies of God; Church of God; Holiness/Holy; Congregational/United Church of Christ; Church of the Nazarene
Others [smaller representations yet]: Disciples of Christ; Church of the Brethren; Mennonite; Orthodox (Eastern); Quaker; Reformed/Dutch Reform, and many more
Total Christian 76.5%
Other Religious Groups
Jewish 1.3%
Muslim/Islamic 0.5%
Buddhist 0.5%
Other <.5 and >.3%: Hindu; Unitarian Universalist; Other [examples]: Pagan; Wiccan; Spiritualist; Native American; Baha'I; New Age; Sikh; Scientologist; Taoist; Deity; Druid; Eckankar; Santaria; Rastafarian
Total Other Religions 3.7%
No Religion Groups
Agnostic 0.5%
Atheist 0.4%
Not a worldview group, but rather individuals who stated: "No religion" 13.2%
Other [smaller representation groupings examples]: Humanist; Secular
Total No Religion Specified 14.1%
85.9% and every belief associated with that percentage is what's wrong with my country. Except for the mormons, they're cool. The story of Joseph Smith is so rediculously retarded that that whole religion has got to be some kind of a pisstake. |
