The GS-R engine is pushing a little more than 130hp. |

dmatrox, there's only 120xxx kms on the motor still. not bad for an almost 10 year old car.
orbax, sorry but i am very secure about myself and my car. otherwise, i would not post it up for all to see.
i didn't ask for reasons why people hate hondas. i am already MORE than aware why people do. i posted this thread up about my car not the scene or what i should be doing with my money.
i am debating, if i can call it that, against you because you are dissing the scene that i am a part of and i feel i should be expressing my opinion on behalf of the scene that i am involved with. there is no reason for you and your negativity towards my hobby in this thread. this thread is meant for commenting on my car not the scene nor your opinion on what people should not be doing what they are doing. save those comments to yourself. we are NOT discussing the import scene.
this is something you still do not understand. again, if you don't like import cars or the scene, then that is your call. whether you want to say something negative about my actual car or not is really just a moot point now. you are already going off-topic and bashing what i and other import enthusiasts like to do.
GS-R makes 170hp stock. not a whole lot by any means but the car is not all that heavy. in the real world its not all about how much peak HP/TQ you make. it is about power to weight ratio and a true dyno showing long powerbands. peak hp/tq is not my cup of tea. making decent power over a long stretch of RPM is more to my liking. my goal is to push it well over 200whp (not flywheel).
the car is NOT loud at all. the exhaust is a very conservative one with a resonator in the b-pipe and one in the exhaust tip. sigh, honestly, opinions on the actual car is fine. negative or positive, i take it all with grace.
however, when people start to make silly assumptions about my attitude towards other cars or assume that i am very arrogant about my car, it is just tiring. all the commenting should be on what you see here in the pictures and mod-list and not what you assume about my attitude or what you assume i do with the car.
if the moderators are reading this, i think it is time we should close this thread as i think its pointless to continue on like this. |

Just ignore him bro, if you want a good car discussion, have one. No need to ruin it. I don't know sh!t about cars so I can't really have any input, except that I drove a 98 Honda Civic for about a year, and I loved the car. Your car looks great, I really wish I knew somethin about cars because I think making one into your style as a hobby would be a blast, although expensive, I would love to learn it. :) |

i have but one question
WHY DO ALL YOU RICE HEADS PUT IN SPOILERS ON FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CARS........
it makes no in sense. from a fluid mechanics stand point the most effective spoiler for down forces is a dovetailed decklid (similar to the ones used in NASCAR) where th back of the trunk has a slight lip of .5 to 1.5 inches right at the back of the car.
it makes even less sence to have the wing so in high because at that point the air is moving the same speed as the car so it is inefficient, or even worse it cuould be sitting in the turbulent region caused by the ty shape of the rice rockets for aerodynamics so you might actually create upforce from air coils.
having a wing very close to the contour of the car means that A the air travelling at that point is usually alot faster than the cars actuall velocity but B it is a pretty good approximation of laminar flow so the stream tube is pretty predictable.
theres my 2 cents |

#1 You can close your own threads...
#2 Dont tell me I dont know how threads work in the CORe. If we went on the assumption that an unsuccessful thread was one that diverged/moved on from the original point...
So yeah, your thread started off about your car. How many "omg nice car/omg I hate your car" comments did you want to have? The only real possible chance for discussion on this subject would be to get into the "scene" you are apparently so deeply and religiously part of.

Yeah, it is my call, and ill ing say it if I want. The point was moot from the beginning, because it isnt debatable on whether or not Ill say my opinion. So quit bitching about someone trying to push this thread past its original narrow topic.

yadda yadda yadda |
Finally, someone asks the question I've asked all along. If you're putting force on the rear end of the car, isn't it going to take weight off of the driving wheels? Wouldn't that make them less adherent to the road?
BTW, I am a big import car fan, I just think spoilers (unless they're on a rear wheel drive car) are kind of useless.
And your car (whomever started the thread, sorry, missed the name) is pretty tight, I dig the clean look of it. :) |
